hi..there is a problem i have.
as an arab christain in the middle east I face alot of discrimination,
lots of muslims hate us and beleive that we are disloyal to the arab community , and its not very pleasant to hear the Imam
(Imam = priest ) call us infidels and (nassara) - which is similar to the "n-word" in america- using loudspeakers from the mosque.
they also see us as we have less honor because we dont force our women to wear their dress and let them wear european style dress.
if i moved to america or any westren society they will refer us as
terrors and backward.. what do you thing i should do ?

Agnostics believe God can neither be proved nor disproved, until that proof is found, shouldn't everyone be an Agnostic?

From a Christian, bible-following point of view, is it right to use birth control and pain killers? I mean, God says in Genesis that because Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, he will increase her pain during child birth, and yet she will still long for her husband. Does this mean that when we are using things like birth control and we take pain killers to ease the pain during labor, we are, in a way, trying to get around God's punishment for us? Or am I thinking too much? Is it Eve's punishment only?

1. God is omniscent, omnipresent, etc., basically, infinite and all-powerful. (generally accepted by most religions)

2. Man is not. (duh)

3. God is not revealed to man... man must have faith in his existence. (again, faith is a tenet of most religions)

4. Man has no quantifiable experience with something infinite and all-powerful (follows from #3 - he must rely on faith).

5. Man, as an imperfect and finite being with no quantifiable experience, expresses something infinite and perfect through religion. (follows from 1-4)

6. Therefore, organized religion is inherently flawed. (progression 1-5).

Questions: are there flaws in this logic? is there any form of religion that is not inherently flawed?

Like paul, I am imprisoned in my body of flesh. I am married and love my family very much. I don't drink, smoke or use drugs, but my circumstances (travelling a lot) have led to me to revert to immoral thoughts and behaviour. I flirt with women whenever I get the chance and go to extremes when chatting and communicating on the internet icluding BDSM and pornography. I am cuaght in a vicious trap and know not how to get out. Do any more of you have the same problem. Is there any remedy. I know Christ is the answer. But I have tried but failed so many times and I feel rotten to repent daily.

"You might help out by better explaining what you mean by "faith alone" (you seem to be one of the rare people who really understands this). Can you post a question or two that will help the Christians understand faith and the futility of trying to prove or find evidence for their belief in god? "

SURE! Faith, to Christians, "is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is what we have, when we cant prove something to be right or wrong, to be there or not.

Often times, Christians tend to be asked for proof, and site faith. Faith is our PERSONAL proof, what we find to be true for our own reasons, and will not be proof to everyone. When someone asks for proof, the only argument we have is Faith. Faith alone is our personal proof.

Arguing proof to an atheist is pointless, we have none except our own personal faith and truth. And that is powerful to us. What do you think?

1)space "junk" deposits 14.3 million tons of dust on the moon per year. If the moon were 4.5 billion years old it should have 450 ft. of dust, yet astronauts found less than 3 inches! (=8000 years old) Moon's age =Earth's age
2)1/2 life of earth's magnetic field is 1400 years. Only 10,000 years ago..the earth would've been as strong as a NEUTRON star. For this reason the earth can't be older than 10,000 years.
3) Fossil fuels are contained in high pressures in the earth...study confirms that they couldn't be maintained in this state for more than 10,000 years w/out "leaking"
4)If the earth were "billions" of years old then the original great centrifugal force would have flattened the earth into a pancake!! (earth is losing speed at .0002 seconds per year)

my point is that young-earth creationists do have valid scientific arguments. Comments>>

And when I say read that does not include having individual segments read to you in church.

If you have, how can you possibly ignore the glaring contradictions and still claim that the Bible is the inerrant word of God?

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone knows some good exercises or meditation techniques for improving one's ability to sense and control the flow of Ki within and around them.

I already know about 5 different breathing exercises and a basic meditation technique, I'm just curious if anyone knows of any that are more beneficial than others.

Please don't give me links to google searches as I can do that on my own. I'm asking this question for people that have personal experience with developing the ability to sense and control the flows of Ki.

Thanks in advance.

Most people in the christian or catholic church are well aware of how they need to live their lives in order to receive God's gracious invitation into heaven, but what exactly does heaven consist of? The descriptions in the Bible portray heaven as an illustrious place with pearly white gates where your soul can live in peace forever. But that seems to be about it. What exactly do you do in heaven? Why does God send you there? If you "live" in heaven for an eternity, then surely God must have some use or purpose for you? Why would he create a place that collects a neverending supply of righteous souls that just sit around for an eternity?

I'm not approaching this topic with any sort of bias agenda. I'm very open minded and just curious about this topic.

(There isn't space to list all the texts, sorry.)

Are they subject to interpretation even when certain scriptures are claimed to be divinely inspired?

How do we know that the one who teaches us about those texts has the correct understanding?

How can any one be sure that they correctly understand the word of a human, much less the Word of God?

I mean, it touches on all the bases: sacrifice, blood atonement, idol worship, divination, etc...

many Christians beleive in possesions, too... they just call it "the power of the spirit" or something like that... The whole thing reeks of paganism... it's only minor variations on the same old things done by indigenous tribes in Africa and South America and old Nordic and Greek and Roman Mythologies...

what makes Christianity so popular, so different (and supposedly so un-pagan) if it really is just the same old thing with a different cover?

We have air, we all KNOW we have it, we breath it, and we cant "see' it, but its there.

Stop using air as an argument for God. "If we cant see air, but we know its there, then doesnt in stand that just cause you cant see God, he's there too"

No. No. No. Using Air to try to prove God exists, will get you NO where with Atheists. Why? We KNOW theres air, we are alive, we breath it, its there. We DO NOT know there is a God, that is based on faith alone. Who agrees with me?

(Im a Christian, no need to convince me. My point is the argument is redundant, so can we stop now?)
