Logic doesn't work. Education doesn't take. There is misinformation being spread about evolution. They need their sky-daddy! So what can we do now to get around them? We need to make some sort of "pocket of non-influence" that they can exist inside, and not screw everything else up. How can we create this? Separation of church and state is a good start...

another conversion attempt?!?!?!
If we are all going to die and be nothing but worm food what does it matter what we believe? If evolution is a reliable way to ensure "survival of the fittest" then just let evolution take care of our silly uneducated beliefs- I mean if we are that weak and uneducated then evolution should wipe us all out in say , umm... a few billion years! There is PLENTY of misinformation being spread about Christianity, what exactly we believe and why- so I would suggest you get educated. Besides if through evolution this world can only get better and stronger - why is it , according to your own words, getting more and more screwed up? Not because of us Christians- because if we were wrong, and you know we are not- then it would make absolutely no difference in the world what anyone believed, how anyone lived their life, etc.

Evidently you believe there is something more , otherwise you would not spend so much time and effort trying to convert us all the time :)

I totally agree with the separation of Church and State. I think a person should run if they hear statements like "I would never do that to you, I am a Christian." I put up a wall right away. I would rather go to 'Honest Abe's' used car lot. I am not against Christianity. I am against the abuse of it. Many seem to think it is a cure-all. An easy way out. That no matter what they do, it will be ok because they have 'been redeemed'. I know of a case where a father abused his child and when he was in court actually told the judge that it would be ok because 'Jesus will heal her.' The judge handed down the stiffest sentence he could give. Citing that he had less regard for his own daughter than a drunk behind the wheel of a car. All I want is for people to be accountable and quit hiding behind the mask of "Christian"

You can't tell someone what to believe in. Be it god or love it is simply a feeling to which no logic can apply.

As far as, evolution goes, well that's just the crazy fundamentalists. Even the Vatican has admitted that evolution is scientific fact. For that matter is it really so difficult to imagine evolution and god co-existing? Devo figured it out:

"God made man, but a monkey applied the glue."

Moreover, we have certainly benefited from the influence of some Christians - MLK for example. Rather we need to get rid of fundamentalism. We need to make Christians realize that the death penalty, greedy materialism, judging and hating others for a different faith or lifestyle... all of these things are very directly opposed to the teachings of Jesus. Moreover, Jesus himself was an advocate of the separation of church and state. Remember, Jesus was executed by a joint order between the Temple and the Emperor, and it was he who said, "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's render unto god that which is god's."

Unfortunately many secular minded folk fall into the same fundamentalist trap as our Christian brothers and sisters. It's just as easy to get self-righteous about not-god as it is to feel that way about god.

So, the answer is simple. Instead of looking for things to fight about and reasons to hate each other, let's look at things we can agree upon. Both Atheists and Christians should have a strong interest in the separation of church and state because while your particular faith might be in fashion now, what about 50 years from now? What if at that point Islam is the most popular religion? Moreover, there are many universally human causes we can agree upon - ending starvation and poverty, curing diseases, promoting equality and justice for all people, and working for peace. There are plenty of Christians out there who are focused on these noble goals, unfortunately they just aren't as loud as the Pat Robertsons and Ralph Reeds of the world.

I don't have a problem with ANY RELIGION. It is the EFFECTS that the religion is having on the people.

The Christian Right (or Satanic Wrong as I call them) have been running this country for way too long, and their politics look more like the politics of war, strife, hate, blasphemy and deception than those of Jesus. Jesus was into peace, prosperity, getting along, acceptance, truth, and good religion.

People will continue to vary in their religious interpretations through eternity. Do yourself a favor and get used to it and like it. I just call it DIVERSITY, and it is a beautiful thing.

As for the Christian Right, when were they EVER RIGHT, and they don't look Christian to me. VOTE AGAINST THEM and help in political campaigns to remove them from office so we can get our country back from their cruel and unusual punishment. You can also write your congressmen and voice your political opinions as well as various federal agencies. Everybody has a web site and is open to input from the public.

Or, sit on your **** and complain about it. A good first step is to talk to your friends and get them involved. Every vote counts. I am pretty much voting COMPLETELY AGAINST ALL REPUBLICANS in the next election in the hopes that it will help. I like the Libertarians, and the Bush Administration has just done this country WAY WRONG.

All religions, especially Christianity has a vague understanding and range of knowledge of god and heaven and hell. All these wars today over religion, it’s not about if there is a god, it’s about his looks and his divine words, which god is better. Nobody knows what god wants, hell nobody even knows what happens to you after you die. There are many answers, but they are really assumptions. So religions blend their own hatred towards gays, promiscious women, criminals, even other religions as being pagans and not believing in one god for their own benefit and build a negative cycle and a split in society strictly fueled by contradiction (when one thing opposes the other) such as thou shall not kill, but christian religious freaks killed thousands so called non believers in 1095 A.D, which is hypocrisy (The false expression of beliefs, feelings, or virtues which one does not actually possess, or follow themselves fully, or even to a certain extent) which is the main factor of dehumanizing others (process by which members of a group of people assert the "inferiority" of another group through subtle or overt acts or statements.) sometimes people may feel that the biggest sin is just being born, existing because religion banishes everything, so what’s the point of caring if everything is wrong to those who are closer to the creator (or creators)?. By reading this answer and separating fact from fiction.

Hey not all Christians are the ones you speak of. Personally, I don't believe in an absolute wrong. For that to occur, everyone would have to agree on an absolute right (100% of people agree). Therefore, I can not and will not say what is "right" or "wrong". I have a personally right and wrong and I encourage everyone else to do the same. My personally "right " is that there is a God, or as you call him Sky Daddy (I think that is cool by the way).

I'd never tell you how to live your life, please don't tell me how to live mine. And I agree about the crazy people calling themselves Christians and making choices for everyone! Get rid of them and we'd all be happier people!

What gives you the right to take away our rights...I am a Christian. I share my beliefs, but I do not insult yours. Why does it bother you Sooooo much what someone else believes? That might be a good place for you to start. If you don't believe in Christ or the Christian faith bothers you so much, ask yourself why? When I don't believe/agree with anothers beliefs or viewpoints, I don't dwell on their beliefs...I dig deeper into my own.
And by the way...I thank God for every person that suffered even to death so that I can have the freedom to type this or say what I believe without having to worry about people "getting around me".

Would you play the lottery if it where free and you could still win millions of dollars???

Here's the way I see it. Athiests have got to be the dumbest people on the planet. Sure there is overwhelming evidence of evolution, however there is no evidence as to the creation of the universe. So, with that in mind, what do you have to lose by believing there is a God? But on the flip side, imagine what you have to gain...

An anti-religious advocacy group needs to be started up, to bring our message into the political mainstream. The fundies have most of the power right now, and that is why we find ourselves in these silly dillemmas (ID in school, stem-cell research, etc.). There needs to be a political platform that reflects our views, basically...something not as corrupt, or self-promoting as the ACLU.

Edit: J.C.! Do you think that guy wrote enough? I hate when they do that. If I wanted to read an entire text, I would not be on here.
LOL!

What happened to tolerance? Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them wrong. What right do you have to take away the civil and human rights of a third of the human race? If your logic and education lead to the kind of intolerance you exhibit, I would doubt whether you're as logical and educated as you think.
