If it hasn't, and you don't want it to, you can chime in, too.

This is all a little new to me.

If heaven and hell do exist why is it that we only get two choices? It seems so unfair; I really don’t want to go to either place. I would much rather be flying around the Universe exploring and seeing a bunch of cool stuff for all eternity. Please don’t tell me something stupid like you will know all of these things, because you don’t know. There is a big difference between physically experiencing things and being some mystical vapor floating around in heaven. I want to learn things and experience them on my own. What is so wrong with that?

In my opinion, religion is just a way to answer all of the questions that we couldnt figure out. Since we couldnt figure out the answer, to, say, how the world was created, we made up a God that supposedly created the whole universe out of nothing.

I ASKED EARLIER ABOUT ANGELS POSSIBLY BEING THE STARS. MANY PEOPLE DID NOT "GET" MY QUESTION. THE BIBLE SOMETIMES SEEMS TO INTERCHANGE THE TWO. THERE ARE MANY CONNECTIONS BETWEEN SPACE AND OUR WORLD. (SIGNS AND WONDERS IN THE HEAVENS.) IF EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS IN THE UNIVERSE IS MADE UP OF THE SAME GASES AND ELEMENTS, THEN ISN'T IT POSSIBLE THAT SPIRITUAL BEINGS MAY LOOK ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THAN ANYTHING WE IMAGINE? IT SAYS WE WILL HAVE GLORIFIED BODIES....THE BIBLE SAYS MANY THINGS THAT, TO ME, SOUND LIKE STARS, METEORS, ETC. BREAK DOWN THE ELEMENTS---I GUESS WE COULD SAY GOD IS A SCIENTIST.

What do you think of the religion? What do you think of Christians that convert to messianic judaism.

I have seen several posts with an interesting rhetorical strategy:

The poster will say that "the devil/Satan 'believes in' God"

Does this mean that he simply believes that God exists?

Or do they (Satan and his legions) truly believe IN God, just like theists believe IN God and Christians believe IN Jesus?

This is also used as a defense that belief IN God is not sufficient to gain entry into heaven: Satan believes IN God but cannot go to Heaven. So I am led to believe that Satan may believe IN God the same way that theists do.

Doesn't saying "believe in" imply more than just a "belief of" something? I'm not playing semantic games here; I really would like to know.

Why does God allow suffering when He loves so love us that He gave His one and only son as a ransom to free us from sin and death?

This is an honest question! I was reading online about several Christian men (caucasian American men, children of white European immigrants) who converted to Islam and changed their given names, kind of like when Casious Clay became Muhammed Ali after he converted.

When it comes to African Americans who convert to Islam, I have heard the name change described as them eliminating their "slave names" and reclaiming their cultural identity...things like that.

But why do people from other ethnic groups do it? Is there something in the Quaran that suggests a name change is necessary?

I tried to find an answer to this question on-line, but I didn't find anything other than more conversion stories.

For about the last 2 years, I see numbers like 111, 222.333 ect.. all the time. I see them everyday, several times a day. Sometimes in three, and sometimes in fours. When I first started to see them I thought I was going bonkers it happens so often. I see them on clocks, mileposts and different places. It is almost like someone or something is trying to communicate with me. I have read the book Angel Numbers by Doreen Virtue, and she thinks that it's their way of communicating with people. I am usuakky a very logical person, and would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this, and what theory they have come up with.

It says in the bible (Luke 17-20) and in the Nag Hammadi, Gospel of Thomas, That "It will not come with observation, you will not say lo here, or lo there, for the Kingdom is within you". So how come everyone keeps saying that heaven is a "place", when the bible clearly states otherwise?

A fellow finds himself in front of the Pearly Gates. St. Peter explains that its not so easy to get in heaven. There are some criteria before entry is allowed.

For example, was the man religious in life? Attend church? No? St. Peter told him that's bad.

Was he generous? give money to the poor? Charities? No? St. Peter told him that that too was bad.

Did he do any good deeds? Help his neighbour? Anything? No? St. Peter was becoming concerned.

Exasperated, Peter says, "Look, everybody does something nice sometime. Work with me, I'm trying to help. Now think!"

The man says, "There was this old lady. I came out of a store and found her surrounded by a dozen Hell's Angels. They had taken her purse and were shoving her around, taunting and abusing her.

I got so mad I threw my bags down, fought through the crowd, and got her purse back. I then helped her to her feet. I then went up to the biggest, baddest biker and told him how despicable, cowardly and mean he was and then spat in his face".

"Wow", said Peter, "That's impressive. When did this happen"?

"Oh, a few minutes ago", replied the man.

The purest form of morality is simply doing the right thing, because it is the right thing to do. Once you introduce the concepts of reward (heaven) and punishment (hell) an action can no longer have any moral value because now the action is based on a desire to be rewarded or avoid punishment. Can Christianity still be Christian without the concepts of heaven and Hell?
