Because the Bible is The Truth. See, the words you read in the Bible they are not just words they are spirit. They were written by godly men and woman inspired by the Holy Spirit. That's why it was written in the span of like 1600 years, by different people, in different times, of different cultures, and in different levels of society and everything ties together by the Holy Spirit the one that can reveal it to people for a simple reason, to save humankind.

The answer plain and simple is - The Bible 'was' true. Now it 'is' not.
Why?
What do you believe in? A book by GOD or by a 'man'?
Definitely GOD. Right? Therefore there was a time when the Bible was not corrupted by men with 'evil desires'. Till then it remained as a word of GOD. And till then it was 100% compatible with Science.
But ever since it has been corrupted by 'Man', you find lot many errors in it. Near about 50,000 errors in it, and moreover it is no more compatible with Science.
Therefore go for the Book, that is 100% compatible with science and is also an un-adulterated Book of GOD, pure and simple.
Its the Quran. To know more watch the video

I just want to let you know not all of the bible is true. There is not a single possible way that I can go and pick up any copy of the bible that does not have some ones own beliefes and feelings towards something. Its a old old book that has been translated and I'm sure purposley changed (Catholic church; I'm talking the printing press being made and the catholics going oh crap they can read *rewrite* *rewrite*). Just take the bible as what it means to you and don't worry what other people believe and try and live a life that you know God would be proud of.

There are many other religious books besides the Bible, e.g. the Koran, the Bhagivadgita, the Tao Te Ching, the Eddas, the Torah, and many more too numerous to list in a short essay. Do some reading on the subject. You'll surely find that all of them are written with "conviction, 'sureness', and sense of authority." The authors of all of these books believed what they said or wanted others to believe it. They cannot all be correct. You will also find fiction written with the qualities you mention, as well as essays on other subjects besides religion. I copyrighted two books about watches last year. They were written with conviction, "sureness" and authority, for I know my subject well.

Most works of fiction are written in that style. The Bible just provides another sensual experience by giving the impression of authority that a reader can take away long after putting the book down.

Because thats what the author wanted.
I mean, Dr. Suess wanted a childrens book that revolved around a code-ish thing. And look what he got. A child book that revolves around a code-ish thing.
In the year 5603, Star Trek could be the new bible.
Books are written to be the way the writer wanted it to be. The book doesnt just "happen" to be like that.

The Bible is the Infalliable! I love to hear what the Writer of Hebrew's says on the matter!
For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Many of the books in the bible are based upon history but have been changed to scare people into belief of them for power and influence. Control of the people of the times now and in the future.

For the same reason the Da Vinci Code isn't true.
If the Da Vinci Code weren't true, why was it written with such conviction, "sureness", and sense of authority?

Just because the bible isn't true doesn't mean that the people who wrote it were liars.
Odds are, they honestly believed everything the wrote. And they were simply *wrong*. A lot of people forget this: it's very easy to completely and totally believe something that is, in reality, not true at all.
