I have been in some situations that made me belive that there is a guardian angel.... altought i personally believe i dont deserve to have one.

Once in a party, a friend was going to give me a ride home, but, when the party was over she told me no. So another person gave me ride and in the way home i saw a car accident, i found later that my friend was driving that car..... so if my friend had give me a ride i would die in the car accident thats for sure.

So is this just good luck?

just going thru a question, posted by Brenda's world: "Would you forgive a vicar or priest if he sexually abused your young son or daughter?" majority or all most all of them who answered to the question, "said i ll kill him." side by side accepting the truth that bible doesnt allow to kill even ur enemy.
my question is, does this act of yours, to take a stand for your won child, makes you terrorist???? even if it makes u, u ll like 2 b coz it HURTS when it becomes personal.
i am asking coz this is what u all think about muslims. iraqies and afghanies were destroyed for no reasons. now dont say Osama or sadaam. for one person sake you can not destroy countries.when iraqies or Talibaan kills american soliders coz they kill theri innocent ppl then U ALL CALL THEM TERRORISTS. when indian's soldies rape kashmiri women infront of theri husband N sons and muslims reply them back with a bullet in their chest, the muslims are called terrorists. I ASK WHY THIS DISCRIMINATION?

I live in a two-family flat. I have a driveway next to the house. My upstairs neighbor and I have no problems sharing the driveway; she usually parks on the street and so does her husband. (My car has been in the garage for months--broken). My daughter, who lives with me, has a car, and she parks it up against the garage--it doesn't have a legal license yet. My next-door neighbors live in a two-family flat also. Their driveway is right next to mine, with nothing separating them--just a double-wide drive, basicalloy. Now the downstairs neighbor next door usually parks up near the front door, so the upstairs neighbor backs up and around that person by swinging into MY drive. Tonight my grandson parked in MY driveway, by MY front door. So, the two cars were basically side by side. When the upstairs neighbor next door came home, she couldn't pull her car passed the two that were parked there, Instead of asking HER neighbor to move, her big, bad boyfriend pounded on my door,

I often see people say that certain scripture don't fit the time.. and so they deem it fit to ammend. What justification do people have to ammend God's laws. If they are to be ammended shouldn't God be the one to do it? If they are up for ammendment couldn't everyone then ammend whatever laws they deem fit? (bear in mind the human intellect is fallible)

My friend belongs to a homecell where one of the parents brings a very unruly 6 year old with to the Bible study. He screams and shouts and runs around. Even while they are praying the noise does not end. Scriptures such as "let the children come onto me " etc. come to mind and she is unsure if she should say something about this as it has become very difficult to have the Bible study. Is this just one of those things that she will have to live with? If she tackles the subject, what is the best way to go about it?

There is a witch in our town. I know she is because she has a mole on the side of her nose and she is not married. I brought this issue up at our last council meeting, but they did not accept my accusations on face-value (sic).

How can I prove to the council she is a witch, so that we might move forward with the necessary task of burning her alive?

I would like to know: just for my own curiosity: If you follow a religion, why? Was it that you were raised that way by your parents? If not How do you choose a religion to follow? If you do have a religion does it benefit you in any way? I would love to have some sort of faith to believe in as I was not brought up with one.
I have put in some study on the matter to try and "choose" the religion that best suits me but this doesn’t feel right, can one be chosen when in adult life or is it something that you have to follow from a young age?

Or is it the other way around, or is belief not a factor in happiness?

Whichever you think, tell me why you think that. No Bible quotes, please.

1 Corinthians chapter 14:
As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.
1 Timothy chapter 2:
Also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion. Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent.
In 1 Peter 3:7 we find: "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the WEAKER partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers."

There God says it and COMMANDS it. Shut up!! (Christians only)

Why do you take the time to try to disprove god or make your opinion about it.
Do you think that your an intelect and that god is for the febel minded and weak. And that it is just human condition to look for something greater than our selfs.
Too think that there is no god is the most ignorant thing a person can do. And that person is completely rulled by there ego and is blind and unconsiouss. What a boring life you must life to not be able to see the magic, beauty, creativity and love that surrounds us all. why do you think you post your athiest questions, cos' your bored with the world and are jeolouss that you can't see what other people see, so you try to force your veiws onto them to make your self feel better.
Now go on and let your ego spin up a genius story to defend your self.

I've had a few dreams where I see things that are happening around or to other people - they are cryptic dreams though. Best example was the November tornado at Mossy Grove, Tennessee. I saw little tornados rolling down a road and when I looked on CNN's website - I saw where I was. Is this possible???

Say there was a homeless guy walking down the street. He colapses, and he is rushed to the hospital. He has no ID, no family to report him missing, nobody has any idea who he is.

It turns out he has a rare disease that can only be cured one way. By having someone continuously give him a blood transfusion for 9 strait months.

Obviously nobody should be forced to give the blood transfusion, that would be like rape. Lets say however that the hospital sweetens the deal. They set up a roulette wheel with 200 spaces. If you spin the wheel you get $20. If you land on 00 however, you get plugged into the guy.

So you figure what the hell there is only a 1 in 200 chance of hitting 00. So you spin, you lose and get plugged in. Nobody forced you to spin the wheel. It was your choice that got you where you are. can you unplug? You knew the potential consequenses of spinning the wheel, nobody can be blamed but you. Unplugging will kill this man. Should you be allowed to do it?

(1) Light from the Andromeda nebula can be seen on a clear night in the northern hemisphere. It takes about 2,000,000 years for that light to reach the earth, indicating that the universe must be at least millions of years old.

Science has a wide variety of sources, from all around the world, things you can touch and measure accurately again and again. The Bible has an invisible God and Holy Ghost. ?

Please just clarify why I should go against facts and believe in fairy tales?

people do believe?

2006-07-24 19:03:50 · 26 answers · asked by curious_inquisitor 1

I can't believe in Flu Vaccinations, because then I'd admit that viruses mutate and evolve.

I can't believe in Earthquakes, because they prove plate-tectonics, which shows small evidence of major motion spanning millions and millions of years.

I can't believe my own EYES! When I view the Grand Canyon I see evidence of millions of years of erosion.

But the bible says the earth was created in 6 days and is only about 6000 years old.

So God has obviously played a trick on us to test us. So I can't believe in these things!Right?

We hear so much these days of religious leaders (vicars, priests etc) molesting children, especially innocent young boys, one wonders how much is still swept under the carpet to keep up the illusion “God is good” or “the Bible is the truth” or you name it.

The truth is, there are far too many child abusers in privileged religious positions, whether it’s sexual or physical abuse. The percentage of religious abusers is just way higher than the normal per capita ratio. Why is this so?

Would you forgive a vicar or priest if he sexually abused your young son or daughter?
