Yes, you can. There is no bar. It is just a name. Only difference is that Muslims are fond of it and mostly use it as an affix to their name.

Have you ever heard anyone named as Rawan or Kans etc. No, bcs. the Names effects the personality and behaviour of the person. The Muslims keep the name Mohammed, bcs. they want their child to be a good, honest, truthfulness, all good qualities person in the society. The Name "Mohammed" is most respectable name in Muslims.
Yes, you can call your son by this name, if you, your family and your christians does not have any objection. And do remember that this name is very powerful and respectable in muslims so this name should not be disobyed in any sense, bcs. this may hurt the feelings of muslims.

That is the name of their spiritual leader (if I can say)...its an important name for them. I`m not sure its right that you name your child that if you are Christian. These are religious issues and Muslims as well as Christians would not understand why you named your son Mohammed. I believe some would probably be offended. I don`t think there`s a muslim out there that would name their son Jesus. How about, John, Matthew, David etc...you understand...right?

Firstly, not every muslim guy is named Mohammad. However, it is only Muslims who normally name themselves with this name. It is obvious why! After all, the man who originally had that name is their last Prophet sent by God. Christians and Jews do not believe in him. Besides, I personally do not think there is anything wrong if you name your child with that name being a Christian, but the world is so stereotyped when it comes to such topics that they will invariably associate your child with Islam. However, the fact is that this name was actually an Arabic name. So its upto you I guess!

Because the prophet of Islam was Muhammed. Muslims obviously look up to him very much, and they feel like its an honor naming their kids after him (I should know, my family is Muslim and I have 3 cousins named Muhammed!). And yes I think it would work for a Christian. Its not a name restricted for Muslims, I once met a Christian man in Canada name Muhammed.

Mohammed is not every male muslims name.
Its the name of their prophant i think. I dont remember, but its an important person in thier holy book.
And yes, names have power. You can name you child that, and your child will grow up to know that there are other people here and the only difference is the difference you and they make.

because they admire their prophet so much, they name their sons after him. Another reason could be that is fortold that toward the end of time (when we are close to the day of judgement) a muslim leader, named muhammad will rise to accompany jesus (once he returns) in their guidance of the muslims from their pathetic state as well as fighting against the anti-christ.
I dont think you can call your son muhammad if youre christian as it is a purely muslim name (unlike other arabic names which can be given to christian arabs). But hey, its a free country.

It's like John...
Almost every religion has common names...look at any culture and you'll find a few heavy hitter names that pop up all the time.
Oh, and I know a few Mohammed's that aren't Muslim. It's not like a requirement.

Muslims love prophet more than any thing and love his name it means in arabic the one who people thank him and respect him
and yes you can use that name for your kids
all kids born muslims form any religion
In the words of the Prophet Muhammad: "Every person is born with the innate religious faith (to submit to God Almighty)." Thus when an individual accepts Islam, he is not turning his back on any prior revelation but rather is returning to the original and true revelation of Allah and to his own nature as a creation of Allah. This being the case, Islam is your birthright
