I often see people say that certain scripture don't fit the time.. and so they deem it fit to ammend. What justification do people have to ammend God's laws. If they are to be ammended shouldn't God be the one to do it? If they are up for ammendment couldn't everyone then ammend whatever laws they deem fit? (bear in mind the human intellect is fallible)

No they are commandments not suggestions. Each of us has probably broken quite a number of them, but we should be honest enough with ourselves to know that and not justify our transgressions.

The bible was written by men. Not all the material that could be called gospels were included. Only those that agreed with what became the Catholic church were included. The commandments were the "laws" passed on the a certain people in a certain time. If you take a look at today's laws, you might find that they often are interpreted by the courts and when there is some issue important enough, the supreme court. Since the time of the commandments, there have been many interpretations of the bible made by various christian sects. The original text for instance included the word "virgin" which in that time, in that language, meant quite literally, a woman who had not borne a child. This is a far cry from saying a woman who has never been with a man. My point here is, there are many folks that you already listen to, respect and believe, who are teaching their interpretation, or their religions interpertation of many things including the "laws" of God.

I suggest a thourough reading of the bible, with some thought given to the original words from the latin or hebrew to determine what was the laws of god and what was the laws of man.. I think you will find God needs no laws.. God is love.. know the truth and it makes you free. If you harm no one then you are on the right track to being on the side of the good guys no matter what the laws happen to say in any given society at any given time. Right now there are many laws that are bizarre in nature.. there is one state law that says it is illegal to eat a pickle on a given day.. so go figure.

Its not that certain scriptures dont fit the time, it is that many of the Old Testament laws were for Jews to abide by, until the Messiah came and fulfilled the laws. Once Jesus fulfilled the laws, they were no longer needed, such as sacrifice and the like. Also, they were Jewish laws, for Gods chosen people, not for Gentiles.

No, they are not ammendable, except by God, and he did that through Christ.

Therein lies the problem. Everyone is translating and amending everything to accomodate their own choices regardless of how it fits in with the whole of the instructions. Why is it one can acknowledge the human intellect is fallible, but can not see that same problem with the humans who originally wrote the Bible. Even if it was "God breathed" fallible humans were responsible for transcribing and translating it.

God's laws do not need to be ammended because, like Him, they are perfect so therefore no they are not ammendable

Hi, I agree with you, if any of Gods word should be changed then it should be done by God not ppl, and as for as ppl not in agreement with the Lord's scripture becuz of the (time) well thats becuz they dont no the whole story, Remember I told you about Adam and Eve? well a lot of ppl dont believe the whole old testament, they say, that God didnt do what he told Adam that he would do if he ate of the tree of knowledge,God told Adam "in the (day) you eat of it you shall surely die" well as every one no's Adam lived to be 930 (years) old, but a lot of ppl dont no about a thousand years, I dont no if you remember what I told you or not so I'm going to tell you again. Adam didnt live one day to God, becuz a thousand years to us is one day to God and Adam was 70 years short of one day to God, so do you see what I'm saying? The scripture where God told Adam about "if you eat you die" is in Gen.2:17 and the thousand years is all the way in the back of the Bible,2 Pet.3:8.....the Bible is all there, its just mixed up, we got to put it together........Oh yeah my answer to your Q is, No one can (really) change any thing of God's Scripture, laws, they cant change it in reality only in there mind, hey after all they are only ppl not God......P.S. this is Mango, I dont really no if you understand what I say in my answers but thats ok, like I told you I love your Qs.....lol

God gave the commandments for us to follow. He is not forcing us to follow them. It is our choice but , there are consequences for our choices. Are they ammendable?? In my eyes no, if you belong to or support the ACLU, then your bound to ammend them anyway so why do you care. lol

Do you not think that God, being the one that understands us the best, would create rules that no longer applied to us now? What would you amend that would make us have better lives in the long run?

no. But nobody can keep them anyway, so thats why people like to ammend them, makes them feel better.
