No. They use pretty much the same bible. The Mormons have a third testament, "The Book Of Mormon", however, that they believe is a new addition to the bible.

To many people have misconceptions about the Mormon church I am a (Mormon convert ) and had a lot of the same feelings that are voiced in the people above my answer. We use the King James Version the same as most churches do. The prophet does not change any thing written in the bible, how ever we do believe that his word is the word of the lord. I also think that the Pope has inspiration from the lord does that make me a bad person or in fact a bad Mormon? I don't think it does but I know a lot of Mormons would. I have a reason that's to personal to go into on here as why I know that the LDS church is true. None of the other Books that the Mormons use contradict the bible in any way. They in fact just help to better understand it. If they did contradict the Bible it would not be the true church would it? Yes they believe that a few words have been misinterpreted or left out over the 1000's of years but they have not changed them in the bible but just added a foot note at the bottom of the page. And there are not all that many places that has happened. The Book of Mormon will never take the place of the bible and was never intended too. I hope this helps clear up a few of the questions you had. I know that I had a few of those questions and a lot more. I think the best thing to do is Pray about it and let the lord tell you in your heart about the book of Mormon.

Yes there is a difference, the Bible is more reliable and it's scriptures don't change, in the Bible everyone was warned that if they add or remove any scriptures from it there will be consequences. So if it was a changing book that scripture would have have been removed long ago so people can change it.
The mormon's bible on the other hand was written and is still being changed to suit man's thinking and expectations. They couldn't put it in the Bible because they know the consequences so they read their book as an additional one.
So which is more reliable? I think the answer is easy to find......the Bible.

Both groups use the Holy Bible. In addition to the Bible, the Mormons use the Book of Mormon, which is a really entertaining novel about how the 13th tribe of Israel moved to America and became Indians.
The Eastern Orthodox approach to the Bible is different than that of silly fundamentalist protestants, as they acknowledge and recognize that the argument that everything in the Bible must be taken literally is completely retarded.

Check out this site. There are MAJOR differences between the two, for example, Christians DO NOT believe God was once a man and Christians DO NOT believe man can become a god. According to this site, Mormans believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three seperate beings, as opposed to the same Trinity. Christianity is the teachings of Jesus Christ through reverence and forgiveness and the Bible. Many Mormans believe the Bible is corrupt. For a easy translation of the Bible, buy a Once A Day Bible (Wal-Mart has them) that allows you to read the text of Christianity in short excerpts and provides help for understanding what you are reading.

You've just insulted all Orthodox Christians - as Mormons claim "the Bible" but their real Bible is the teaching of Joseph Smith in the Book of Mormon and other than their door knocking make little to no reference to the Holy Bible other than for geneological purposes, which Paul states clearly that we are not to let this be a pillar to our beliefs.

The bible was written by prophets of God in the Middle East.
The Book of Mormon was written by prophets of God in North and South America during the same time period as the Bible.
Mormons believe that both books came from God. Orthodox Christians believe that only the Bible contains the Word of God.
It is hard to say that one is more reliable than the other. You would be best to read both and pray to God to know if what you are reading is true. God will tell you by the feelings in your heart as you read and pray to know what is right. Take God's word for it and not someone on Yahoo Answers.

Mormons use the King James Version of the Holy Bible, if they are reading in English. It is fairly reliable, but does contain a few errors. I do not know which bible an "orthodox christian" uses.

The bible should be the same, but they use the book of Mormon pearl of great price and another book as well!
I would go with the Christian one!
Mormons believe that the living prophet can change scripture!
That is why the book f Mormon has changed so much and Christians do not believe it is Scripture!
click the link please for more differences in the two faiths

There's a lot of difference between the two. The book of mormon relies on translations from fictional gold plates discovered and seen only by Joseph Smith. No one has ever been able to authenticate anything out of this book.
The Bible is more reliable.
