I have yet to find where a person in the New Testament after the death of Christ was told to pray to God for salvation. I understand this passage that is taken out of context.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Also, I would like to add calling on the Lord is not merely saying, "Lord, Lord"

Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? ::THIS GOES ALONG WITH THE IDEA-->

The existence or absence of "God" is irrelevant. The purpose of "science" is to establish grounds for all things testable and falsifiable. Whether or not "God" exists is not testable or falsifiable thus the question isn't applicable in the realm of science.

"Science" is not the enemy of Christianity or any other religion. On the other hand, religious zealots are the enemy of science only because various well-established scientific principals may cause them to question their faith.

Faith is belief. Science is knowledge. These are two entirely different principals. If your faith is true and strong, scientific postulations, findings, equations, theories, etc.........shouldn’t bother you in the least.

I heard on the radio today, a so-called Christian was heard saying, "Just nuke all the Arabs and let God sort them out." The announcer asked us if we had that attitude? I immediately thought, Not me, but then he said if you are thinking they should be killed because they want to kill everyone else, you have the same attitude as this man. Instead, he said how God wants to send them a message of love through us.

I want to love them, but I would like them allow me to freely express my love and belief in Christ and I will allow them to express their love and belief in their God and prophet. As long as they swear not to use terrorism, I think we could talk about anything. We could agree to disagree, but we could also agree about being loving, forgiving, without prejudice, and we could all be free to worship whomever we want.

Does anybody think this could work?

Do you think that "small" mistakes lead to big tragedies...? And great successes can come from "small" luck of the draw? If so, does that make you afraid of making mistakes...?

The New Testament was written in Coinaye Greek, the language of the common people. Is it because people do twist scripture and take scripture out of context to fit their own agenda? Why can't people stick with the context of passages?

Many do this to predict a doomsday which has proven to be wrong time and time again. A wrong prediction means a false prophet and teaching, correct?

Some people have a problem with positive sermons. I was raised episcopalian and I was taught to fear God....a genuine fear. Does anyone have any words to help me to have a more positive outlook on getting closer to God/religion?

There’s plenty of references to sex and violence in the Bible. In fact it’s that blatant and promiscuous at times, it’s certainly not what you would wish naive or younger minds to read. In my view, I think the Bible should be banned from general circulation.

To give an example of how it corrupts the younger mind, during a routine discussion regarding the citing of pornographic references in the Bible, a young girl (about 14 years of age) quoted “Didn’t Joseph ride Mary’s a.s.s all the way to Bethlehem?”.

Whilst there is a certain amount of humour in her response, I do feel that with all of the explicit sexual and violent references in the Bible, that perhaps reading such material should be restricted to R18 and banned from schools at least.

Please stick with scripture, and tell me what you think about this.

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Gospel:
1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Christians make alot of comments about how "lost" muslims are, but is seems to me christians can't even seem to agree on the same notion of God.
Now, step outside of just american christianity because i'm talking worldwide christians.
some say jesus is god, some say he is just his son, there are even christians in some parts of the world that believe jesus was no more than god's "supreme agent on earth". some believe in the trinity, 3 beings in one, some are unitarians and say the trinity concept is nonsense. Seems like christians can't even agree on which concept of god to follow.

Now muslims, no matter what part of the world, no matter what language they they speak, what culture, or differences. every muslim on this earth can come together and pray to the SAME God, in the same language, because the prayer has to be made in arabic. no muslim in this world can say they believe in a different God, and still be Muslim.

christians seem to have about 100 diff. fundimental beliefs
