The existence or absence of "God" is irrelevant. The purpose of "science" is to establish grounds for all things testable and falsifiable. Whether or not "God" exists is not testable or falsifiable thus the question isn't applicable in the realm of science.

"Science" is not the enemy of Christianity or any other religion. On the other hand, religious zealots are the enemy of science only because various well-established scientific principals may cause them to question their faith.

Faith is belief. Science is knowledge. These are two entirely different principals. If your faith is true and strong, scientific postulations, findings, equations, theories, etc.........shouldn’t bother you in the least.

PLEASE! Read the entire question and answer on point. Nothing intelligible has come through yet.

"Science" does not claim, and never has, that if something is NOT observable, it DOESN'T exist. Rather, it says if it is observable, it DOES exist.

How can I put this any simpler???

I honestly have no idea why, but I think that science is the catalyst that will propel humankind into the future while religion (especially Christianity) is the barrier that keeps us in the Dark Ages. Exactly what questions can we answer and problems can we solve with the answer "Goddidit"? That is the lazy persons way out. I do not ever EVER take that answer seriously and no rational, logical, or decision making person should either.

please don't generalize Christians. I heard many people, especially so called learnt atheists deny God because of evolution or various man made theories. I believe that glory of God is intelligence and He reveals absolute truths about all things to people according the their ability to receive and use them wisely. I do not think that science is an enemy to God, but God is the creator of science. My faith has started with a seed, then planted in my heart and God's teachings applied to my life has produced happiness and safety and peace, also a knowledge in my heart and mind that HE exists. Faith is an assurance of things that are not seen, but true. Truthfulness is confirmed, as we test those principles in our lives. Science is the best guess! It does not have the answers to everything, man is not perfect, however we do our best to learn the truths search for as God gives us. Eventually, at the last day all things shall be uncovered and God can explain everything He has done, even with science we can't perceive much for now. But God is all knowing.

Faith is not belief, but rather faith is a deep trust in Someone.

Science was originally intended to explain the world that God created. However, since the Enlightenment, men have been trying to separate the two. I agree with you on many aspects, but I believe that true science will always acknowledge a higher power.

I so agree! There is nothing about science that denies God. In fact, I was taught, many, many years ago in Catholic school, that God gave us the brilliant minds to study science, so that we would have something to do, so that we COULD figure things out. Many brilliant scientists, after digging deeper and deeper into their studies have walked away believing in God, when they had at first denied His existence. Study how two microscopic bits of matter come together under the most unlikely of circumstances, and in nine months turn into little finger nails, long, silky eyelashes, the softest skin in the world, a little rosebud mouth that smiles at Mom, turn into a sentient being capable of asking questions such as yours and answering, too. And then you will know the meaning of God/Love.

Sometimes faith and science run into each other...
Like in the case that myochondrial dna points to the existence of ONE female in the beginning... does this support an eve?
Does the eagle nebula as seen by hubble telescope explain the big bang theory and show how galaxies are formed, is the eagle nebula the hand of god?

Now, considering the fact I'm not very much of a religious person. I'm still going to answer this question because Logic and science rule over most of my judgment.

I personally have no problem with religion, in fact i find myself wanting to believe in 'god' often enough.

I believe the reason Religious people are nagging on Science is because they can not open themselves to other possibilities, I'm not saying stop believing in god,I'm not saying stop your every day activities that center around your religion.

I'm just saying, why would you step on other peoples beliefs if you don't want them stepping on yours?

Furthermore, Science is not Deni-ing god in the slightest, It is simply trying to broaden our horizons and try to make things a bit easier to understand for people who don't have such...vivid imaginations.

The big bang theory, is a little to much for me to...accept. Science has opened up a whole new world for us, if it wasn't for Science we wouldn't know a lot of things, we might still be running around with a bunch of virus' that wouldn't be good now would it?

I think I've gone off into a ramble. Forgive me.

If you imagine an apple as a whole, it is considerably easy to believe that it was created in no time. Look at it on a molecular level, and you come up with more questions as to why it was made that way. Christianity is no longer faith, but BLIND faith. No questions asked, the bible is correct and everything else is wrong. Growing up in the Bible belt, I hear alot of this in science classes.

Science is the study of empirical evidences or things that can be seen, touched, tested. Science is the study of the created. Science therefore, cannot dissuade me from faith in God but actually strenghthens it. It proves to me that there is a Creator. Faith is the evidence of things not seen.

Im catholic and i always wonder about that question too. My dad tells me that people should have more faith in god because science can only go so far. Especially with abortions and stem cell research, itslike toying with the "powers of god", taking life away etc. I dont know where i stand in this contreversy but thats what my dad tells me.

it is my opinion that science confirms the belief in God. As science progresses it will prove more and more of Gods word.

Here is My point about science progressing.

17th Century a paper was posted. "100 infallible science facts" by the 18th century all were proved wrong.

18Th Century a paper was printed " 100 proved science facts" you guessed it by the 19th all were proved wrong.

the 19th didn't try as science and knowledge improves so do what is known
