Daniel L,
In response to your question, my husband is a husband, a father, and a son, but yet he is the same person.
Isaiah 6:9 says "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
This is obviously the prophecy of Jesus birth, so I ask why is He called the "mighty God" and the "everlasting Father" if He is not God. The Hebrew word for might God is ale' which is used for diety.
Also 1Jo 5:7says there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, adn the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
The greek word for "Word" is logos. Compare that with John 1:1 which is also logos and you have Jesus one with the Father and Spirit.
I also want to add that Jesus didn't come to get rid of the law but to fullfill it. He had to come and live the life. He came to be the perfect example of how we are supposed to walk with God, which meant becoming obedient to the flesh, not in a sinful way, but he had to remain a man in order to save mankind. He was fully God and yet still a man. He set the example of prayer, and God's word. This also made it possible for Him to go to the cross and die for our sins, only a perfect unblemished lamb could have served as a sacrifice, and that He was.
If you look back to Genesis and creation, God created and then he rested the 7th. Before He commanded Adam and Eve, He first set the example, which is what a good Father does. This is what Jesus did. He set the example first, and then taught the people the way we are supposed to be living. This is why He was obedient to the Father because that is His character. If he had not lived it first, no one would have believed the whole "do as I say, not do as I do" method.

Learn some facts first before you post. If you will notice in John 20:28 the word god is not capitalized. Every where in the bible when they spoke about Jehovah God they capitalized his name. But when they spoke of other gods they did not. Jesus is somewhat of a god is he not? But he is not the ALL MIGHTY GOD. In Isaiah---isn't God with us all? Jesus is a part of God just like I am a part of my parents. And the bible does say that Jesus was the first born of all creation. I too agree with Daniel L

To whom was Jesus praying when he said prayers? Why would he need to pray at all if he is part of a Godhead? Why did Jesus state "what I teach is not mine, but belongs to Him that sent me." John 7:16 How could it belong to one part of himself and not another? Why does the bible continually say that Jesus is "God's son" and not God himself? A son does not hold the same position as a Father, the Father is the head of the household. You may want to take a look as well at Colossians 1:15 which calls Jesus " the firstborn of all creation" which means he is a created being. To accept that Jesus is part of a godhead is disregard what the rest of the bible teaches. The entire bible is God's word and it does not contradict itself.

Sadly, this "question" seems intended mostly to insult Jehovah's Witnesses and spread falsehoods about them.
In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses *DO* acknowledge Christ Jesus as their Lord and King. Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe (Prov 8:30) !
The Scriptures even call Christ by the title "Mighty God" at Isaiah 9:6. However, none of that teaches that Jesus the Son is equal to Jehovah the Father, or included with him as two-thirds of a mysterious polytheistic triple-god.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Jesus himself referred to his Father as "the only true God."(John 17:3)Jehovah himself said:"Besides me there is no God."(Isa.44:6)The apostle Paul wrote that,to true Christians,"there is....one God the Father."(1Cor.8:5,6)
So Jehovah is unique;no one else share his position.Jehovah stands in utter contrast to all such objects of worship as idols, deified humans, and Satan. All these are false gods.
Jesus is spoken of in the Scriptures as "a god" even as "Mighty God."(John 1:1;Isa.9:6)But nowehere is he spoken of as being Almighty,as Jehovah is.(Gen.17:1)
Jesus is said to be "the reflection of God's glory,"but the Father is the Source of that glory.(Heb.1:3)Jesus in no way seeks the position of his Father. He said:"It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service."(Luke 4:8)
He exists "in God's form",and the Father has commanded that "in the name of Jesus every knee should bend",but this is all done "to the glory of God the Father" - Phi.2:5-11
The context surrounding John Chapter 20 helps us draw the right conclusion.Taking a scripture out of context doesn't.So,if anyone has concluded from Thomas' exclamation that Jesus is himself "the only true God' or that Jesus is a Trinitarian "God the Son",he needs to look again at what Jesus himself said(vs.17)and at the conclusion that is clearly stated by the apostle John(vs.31).
In applying Isaiah 7:14 to Jesus the apostle Matthew wrote:"All this actually came about for that to be fulfilled which was spoken by Jehovah through his prophet,
saying:'Look! The virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son,and they will call his name Immanuel',which means, when translated, 'With us is God'"-Matt.1:22,23
It was meant to state a fact regarding Jesus' mission rather than to give a literal name. This can be illustrated by another prophecy of Isaiah, found at Isa.9:6,7 where it states ..."And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor,Mighty God,Eternal Father,Prince of Peace..."
When you examine the scriptures you will see how fitting it was and is that in prophecy Jesus was identified not only as "Wonderful Counselor",Mighty God,Prince of Peace,Eternal Father,"but also as "Emmanuel,"meaning,"With us is God".And all this ,without his actually being called by these names when he was on earth.
The only other angel besides Gabriel named in the BIble, is Michael(Who is Like God?),and the only one called "archangel"(Jude 9)
Scriptural evidence indicates that the name Michael applied to God's son before he left heaven to become Jesus Christ and also after his return.Michael is the only one said to be "the archangel" meaning "chief angel" or
"principal angel"The term occurs in the Bible only in the singular. This seems to imply that there is but one whom God has designated chief,or head,of the angelic host.At 1Thess.4:16 the voice of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is described as being that of an archangel, suggesting that he is,in fact himself the archangel. This text depicts him as descending from heaven with a "commanding call".It is only logical therefore, that the voice expressing this commanding call be described by a word that would not diminish or detract from the great authority that Christ Jesus now has as KIng of kings and Lord of lords (Matt.28:18;Re.17:14).If the designation "archangel" applied, not to Jesus Christ, but to other angels then the reference to "an archangel's voice" would not be appropriate. In that case,it would be describing a voice of lesser authority than that of the Son of God.
There are also other correspondencies establishing that Michael is actually the Son of God.Daniel, after making the first reference to Michael(Da.10:13),recorded a prophecy reaching down to "the time of the end"(Da.11:40) and then stated"And during that time Michael will stand up,the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of Daniel's people(Da.12:1)Michael's "standing up"was to be associated with "a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time."(Da.12:1)In Daniels prophecy,'standing up' frequently refers to the action of a king, either taking up his royal power or acting effectively in his capacity as king(Da.11:2-4,7,16b,20,21).
This supports the conclusion that Michael is Jesus Christ, since Jesus is Jehovah's appointed King, commissioned to destroy all the nations at Har-Magedon-Rev.11:15,16:14-16.
The Book of Revelation (12:7,10,12)specially mentions Michael in connection with the establishment of God's kingdom and links this event with trouble for the earth.
In his prehuman existence Jesus was called "the word"(Joh1:1).He also had the personal name Michael.By retaining the name Jesus after his resurrection (Acts9:5)"the word" shows that he is identical with the Son of God on earth. His resuming his heavenly name Michael and his title(or name)"The word of God"(Rev.19:13)ties him in with his prehuman existence. The very name Michael asking as it does "Who is like God?" points to the fact that Jehovah God is without like,or equal, and that Michael his archangel is his great Champion or Vindicator.
