There’s plenty of references to sex and violence in the Bible. In fact it’s that blatant and promiscuous at times, it’s certainly not what you would wish naive or younger minds to read. In my view, I think the Bible should be banned from general circulation.

To give an example of how it corrupts the younger mind, during a routine discussion regarding the citing of pornographic references in the Bible, a young girl (about 14 years of age) quoted “Didn’t Joseph ride Mary’s a.s.s all the way to Bethlehem?”.

Whilst there is a certain amount of humour in her response, I do feel that with all of the explicit sexual and violent references in the Bible, that perhaps reading such material should be restricted to R18 and banned from schools at least.

I totally agree with you, but it'll never happen. They're still working way too hard to ban Harry Potter.

Usually, when the Bible refers to sexual intercourse, it's something like "(man) knew (woman)" ie. Adam knew Eve, Moses knew his wife...
That isn't very explicit. Certainly a young child would not understand the actual context of that.

That 14 year old girl you mention doesn't too well versed in the Bible; there's no mention of Joseph "riding Mary's a**" or anything even close to that. Look it up yourself.

As for the violence, there was a lot of it in OT times, but back then it was pretty brutal. Tribes and nations were constantly fighting each other for the top spot. Considering the level of violence and gore we see on TV and media, the Bible's descriptions of most violent scenes pales in comparision.

And there is MUCH worse literature out there- even at the local grocery store, out in the open for young eyes to see.

You are actually serious correct. The Bible can be pornographic in violence that is, not sexually. That's just kind of dumb. But to the mentally ill, especially, those who are bipolar, the Bible can be very intoxicating and can drive people to do stupid things.

And since bipolar affects Christian and non-christians, its best to either be on your medication or not read the Bible during a manic phase.

It's a documented statistic that children who are uneducated about the truth of sex are more likely to be molested than those who do.

The Bible teaches truth about sex. It teaches how beautiful it was created and meant to be. It also exposes how it has been abused and twisted by sin into something dangerous and ugly.

The key is not to ban sex or the bible, but to teach children the truth about them. The whole truth, and not just the fluffy "peepee, noona" crap that some people try to "protect" their children with.

The Bible tells the TRUTH, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about not only the good, but the bad and the ugly as well. If mankind were not so evil, none of these histories would have been necessary to tell about. But it is further indication of God's grace in the face of human error.

The Bible is about humans. Many humans like to have sex...some in constructive ways. Others in unconstructive ways. The Bible shows humanity at its very best and very worst.

If you're just being sarcastic, have at it. The banning of books is annoying and demeaning to real, thinking people.
