I'd warn them not to come here. I'd tell them that here we have these crazy people called Christians and Muslims who are total lunatic nut jobs and will kill the aliens for not believing in God or Allah.

As a fellow atheist, I would ask them what their rationale is. I think it's important not only to know what a person thinks but also how the person got to this conclusion. Perhaps it's a conclusion I hadn't thought of, and it would solidify my view. On the other hand, it might also spur conversation that could lead to an understanding of both persons' views. Regardless, it would be interesting.

I would ask why they thought there was no supreme being. If they were more advanced than us, maybe they'd have a reason to feel that way. Or maybe they had just never questioned where they came from or why they were here. So, if we explained why many of us believe in God, we might be opening doors for them. (But, I'd want to be very careful with THAT--we wouldn't want them to start killing in the name of-------------------(you fill in the blank with the name of your "favorite" god, religious leader, Savior, etc.

there are many types of alien races that currently exist. Just like humans have different religiions, aliens also have different religions. Maybe the next time you meet an atheist, he/she might be an alien in human form....

Advanced in what respect? Is knowing how to build starships somehow better than knowing how to get along with your neighbors (or family) and your environment? Is having more money better than having peace of mind?
