If heaven and hell do exist why is it that we only get two choices? It seems so unfair; I really don’t want to go to either place. I would much rather be flying around the Universe exploring and seeing a bunch of cool stuff for all eternity. Please don’t tell me something stupid like you will know all of these things, because you don’t know. There is a big difference between physically experiencing things and being some mystical vapor floating around in heaven. I want to learn things and experience them on my own. What is so wrong with that?

maybe after you die, your soul will do exactly that, who knows right? who says we only get 2 choices? the bible? so what, heaven means sitting on a cloud playing the harp? please...when we were put on earth we obviously weren't intended to know the real reason behind it and also if you really did know what heaven was like and you had that in mind, would you really want to live this life on earth? no, so it's better that we don't know...have you read any of Sylvia Browne's books? i think they're awesome...

Let me ask you this: "What makes you think that heaven isn't a place where you can do all that?" Plus, heaven is only a temporary place. It will be replaced by a new heaven and a new earth, where the Lord will rule and reign. It will be better than anything we can imagine here on this fallen world.

But yes, there are two choices: Live with Christ, or be banished from His presence forever.

It's like here on earth. I'm sure when you walk into a restaurant, and they ask you "Smoking or Non-smoking?" you don't say, "Why only two choices?" The answer is "Because there aren't any others." Same with heaven and hell.

The truth is the two choices we have are not heaven or hell.
The choices are life or death. Rom. 6:23. I don't have time to go into this but , no where in the bible does it say christians go to heaven. Nor does it say that sinners go to a burning hell yet never burn up. We either live forever with Jesus Christ or we'll be dead forever. If you live forever then you'll be able to travel anywhere throughout the universe. You would be spirit like Christ is. Just think it & your there. This website will answer you completely.

there's a lot of things that allow only two choices, one or the other, and we don't think of them as unfair, for example, you're either a man or a woman, either pregnant or not, either dead or alive....
And it's because we didn't make the rules. If the universe belongs to God, I am sorry, but you can't change the rules. If you were God, you'd make the rules, fair or not, or do you think you'd do better?
Life's unfair?... Well it's about time you found out!
nobody knows what's in the afterlife, and those who caught a glimpse of it, don't have the vocabulary necessary to express that in words people could relate. .. See the wholke thing is, we're 3 D... and the afterlife thing is like a whole other dimension, that Math, or Science don't have the props for explaining it even if they knew it.

I don't really believe in the heaven or hell thing...those are things I think man made up to terrify us into listening. But even if you go by traditional religious beliefs there are several ideas in a multi-layered heaven and a multi-layered hell. The Qu'ran actually notes a 7 layered heaven connected to hell. The Catholics believed in a multi-leveled hell...various levels like purgatory for the unbaptized children, to the firey burning hell we're all taught about in Sunday school. I feel what you believe in is what will be waiting for you, and if you don't want to decide between the 2 I'll see you in the stars. :)

Who says we won't be able to do this in heaven? Revelations describes a new heaven and a new earth, and Paul speaks of us being given new bodies, implying we're not going to be mystical vapors floating around heaven. I tend to think, why would God create such a majestic universe for nothing? We'll be able to explore it and live in other galaxies for eternity if we want.

no there is a place between both extremes that is EARTH. u are living ur life on earth right now. u are given full options to chose between good and bad. u can make of ur life whatever u like to. go and explore the universe. who is stopping u? God has made this universe for human to explore(Quran saying).
but one truth remains there that there is an end for everything. so be sure that u are well prepared for that end. do good and have good (heaven). if u ll do bad on earth, do not expect a warm welcom in heavens. that is just/fair.... is it not?

Not a complete answer but....
I "hope" that whatever happens when you die is based upon what you want to happen. I think that is a very nice way to think about it all. Live for today - about the only really good answer I was ever given to the question of "what happens when I die".
Although I also love answer - I look forward to death as it is the only thing I can experience only once.

The reason is that it maximizes the difference between any possible choices so that no person can settle for a halfway point. It is a good idea, so no person can stop from being the best they can be.

Nothing is wrong with that and I don't actually believe in hell. I believe that earth is hell and that when we die we all go to heaven because there is no real evil and no devil. to give evil a name gives them power over us. and even thought we go to heaven, we come back down when we so choose because of reincarnation.
