In Thomas Jefferson's papers that he wrote about the State of Virginia between 1781 and 1784 he stated this:

"But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty Gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."

What are your thoughts on President Jefferson's quote?

I've heard people say that all you have to do to be saved is believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died for your sins on the cross, and rose from the grave after three days. It's much more complex than just that, isn't it? Or has everyone just complicated everything? I got saved once, but have lost interest in the things of God, and about the only thing I have left in my life(as far as spiritual things are concerned), is my church attendance. Am I lost now? I mean what does God expect from us? If I don't do everything he says, am I doomed to hell? Is our obedience to Christ supposed to be motivated by the fear of an eternal hell, or by faith that Jesus Christ has already saved me? And at what point do you know you're lost?

i am an atheist i do not believe in god or the devil heaven or hell all i hear is how evil i am and how im going to hell or the ill pray for you or god help your soul all the junk i do not believe in just because i do not believe what they do i do not understand how u can say you are christian or whatever and still look down your nose at me this is america and i can believe what i want why does everyone have to push theyre religon on me or try to make me feel bad because i do not believe the same way you doand if i hear one more god bless u or any of that i will scream

Acual scientists (you know, the ones with REAL credentials, unlike "Dr. Ken Hovind) do not debate ID. That's because it's not Science, it's mythology.
REAL scientists deal with reality, not mythology. One pathetic school board voted to include it. Making Kansas the first state to board the short bus, helmets and drool bibs firmly in place. Thankfully the Dover decision stopped that wave of ignorance in it's tracks. That is why there has been NO more talk about including ID in the classroom. Keep that kind of thing in sunday school with the rest of the magic sky-pixies and leprechauns.
Religion will be allowed in the classroom when thinking and ideas are allowed in church.
How's that for a deal?

I have asked several questions here today.
I thank all of you for answering.

Now some of you claim to be christian and believe that he earth is 6000 year sold, and some of you are christian and say it is not.

Some of you claim to take the biblical texts literally, and some of you say that they dont need to be taken literally.

Now how are we supposed to believe anything you are about when you do not know what you are about?

is it easy to see how the world is filled with hate , when supposedly religious people on a small platform such as yahoo cant get along with hatred and fighting .. this just amazes me that so called religious people speak with such hatred for each other

PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS... The bible confirms that all are forgiving of their sins once the die. The Bible says the wages of sin pays death. So since we are forgiven of the things that we have done when we die and you DON'T believe that ones will be resurrected back to the earth, WHO DO YOU BELIEVE WILL BE ONES IN THIS firery hell that you believe in?

Many people have said in times past that they will allll go straight to hell. Some say there is an atheists chute that God just fires them into hell with like a pitcher on a baseball mound. Well, you are wrong. Many of them if not most will end up in Heaven. Dont count them out. As their life goes on and it nibbles at their toes with all its problems and trajedys their hearts will soften. He, Jesus, will shine His sweet face on their hearts and soften them.My atheist uncle got saved on his death bed. Dont you guys remember the thief on the Cross ? Last minute conversions as well as supernatural visitations of Jesus will change them. Do you think that the darkness of eternity wont make them reach out to Jesus ? I assure you...they will. Let me ask you, why would a God who died so horrible a death let them slip thru His fingers ? It is almost impossible to resist His love. He will get them. Wait and see! Here are examples: (a) The seagull's wings was copied to make an aircraft of high maneuverability, (b) Mercedes Benz copied the low-drag design of a boxfish. THE QUESTION NOW IS THIS: If the copy requires an intelligent designer, what about the original? ( Asked by Awake! Sept 2006 issue)
Professor Behe, a noted bio-chemist, published an article re. complex molecular machine that led to the conclusion of a DESIGNER. And you know what the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AASS) did? It issued an appeal to its members to do everything in their power to FEND OFF THE IDEA THAT LIFE PROVIDES EVIDENCE OF INTELLIGENT DESIGN? Why such an appeal? I thought that Scientific experiments should not be rigged but lead to the right conclusion.
So, 2 Question: ARE WE BEING BLINDED BY SCIENTISTS--like AASS to support their bias in favor of Evolution?
