I'm born and bar mitzvahd at 13 years old- i was given a copy of the Jewish scriptures -do u believe the bible??? i do now do you??? it works oh yes!!
-and when i read it-Moses said "The life of the flesh is in the blood, and ive given it to make atonement -(forgiveness) for your sins. without Jesus we dont have a blood atonement-(Leviticus 17 vs 11) so did God lie? and Isaiah 52 vs 13-53 vs 12 (predicted 700 bce-before Jesus) "He will be exaulted but first he would be marred (hurt) more than any man, and be the anointed one The Messiah who will die as the lamb of God to make atonement for our souls-forgiveness of sins-and see his spiritual seed and prosper."
but i had to pray as Jesus said-do u believe this too????
Jesus said he knocks on each heart to come in -deliver from sins and be our friend-amen Revelation 3 vs 19&20 so i prayed-"Jesus come into my heart-forgive my sins and help me do better-be my friend, amen"---and it happened thank God! ;) oh yesss

The religion I am referring to inidicates a limited amount of space in heaven, yet has the largest evangelist population. Spends millions each year on publications to help spread the word, and convert new followers. Does this make sense? If heaven really is limited on the amount of people it can hold, and this religion claims to have converted 234,000 people last year alone, aren't these folks selling their own spot in heaven? Why risk it? This is not relgion bashing, so if you have negative comments, direct them elsewhere.

The bible specifically the gospel of Jesus Christ does not teach christmas, First century christians does not celebrate christmas. Biblically speaking christmas doctrine is addition to the scriptures, which God forbids us to do. Why celerate christmas?

THe others claim it to be profound. Christ did'nt die so people could work on the Sabbath..yet at one time God thought it important enough to declare death as the penalty...who has a rational answer?

It just seems my experiences in life after loosing the most important people I've loved including my soulmate and my dog of 15 years have occured in this order:
sorrow, anger, sorror, start life over again and again and again and after some time, which is different in each case, I gradually start thinking and remembering them less each day. I never totally forget but I think we all want our closest loved ones to be OK after we're gone...no matter what it takes....?

Hi,
Let me be upfront and report that I'm not christian. I've studied (and study) christianity and am not convinced it's true. However, understanding what christians think better enables me to understand them and to relate and communicate with them.

Having said that, my question regards matthew 8.

now, the clause "even christ" in verse 8 is what interests me. Firstly its interesting, though somewhat irrelevant, that other than the KJV, most other versions don't have it.
That aside, it seems to me that that KJV is understanding that clause as "don't call anyone rabbi -- even the christ shouldn't be called rabbi". As such, the "even christ" clause in verse 10 (which all versions seem to have) would also seem to have the connotation of "even christ shouldn't be called that".
Or am I misunderstanding the "even" clause?

Any help (with references to the original greek~) would be helpful

Why do Pagans and Christians always seem to hate each other? We're sharing the same planet, so, and I hate to sound like an idiot, but why can't we all just get along? Why is it so hard for some to accept that not everyone thinks, believes or practices their belief in the same way?

Regardless of our individual faith, or doctrine, America is predominantly Christian. How would countries that are predominantly Muslim or Jewish deal with this sort of issue, and would God Judge them?

I don't know what this means, you could say a few other metropolises are as "defiled", e.g. Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami Beach, Copenhagen, Tokyo, even Istanbul, Athens, Frankfurt, London, Moscow...

I don't mean to cause bad feelings, but I was wondering -- since the prevalent idea here seems to be that christians love jews, and "we're all responsible for killing jesus" etc... -- what do christians think of the fact that at least 99% of christianity over the last 1800 years or so despised jews and judaism?

(e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitism#Anti-Semitism_and_the_Christian_world )(And just so no group thinks they're being singled out, that wiki articles points out faults from both the catholics and the protestants.)

Thank you for your honest replies and please try to keep answers SHORT (40 lines).

I've watched news clips where anti-ss marriage, and anti-abortion people claim that they are protesting out of love. How is "YOUR GOING TO HELL" a message of love? Please explain, I'm trying to understand your diverse culture, as a progressive Christian, this 'bigotry in the name of Jesus' is new to me.

I think anybody should be allowed to wear whatever they want at any time. Whether it's as a teacher or student in school, or in any type of job.

I don't know if this is even a point of discusion in the USA, but in Europe it's a very delicate subject at the moment.

I was just wondering what your thoughts on the matter of wearing hijabs in public are?
