I believe that the animosity between Pagans and Christians is two fold. For one some of the things that Pagans have held close are the same things that Christians participate in. Halloween, The yule log,May Day and so forth. On the other hand some of the animosity comes from the fact that SOME people tend to bash what they do not understand. People have to remember one thing if you take a look at the root of most religions they are pretty much all the same............Pagan Pride..........BTW RayK469 if you want to know you can email me with questions be glad to answer any serious questions you may have

Maybe I'm a funny old duck, but as long as you don't slap me across the mouth, I don't "hate on" anybody. I am a Christian in my personal beliefs and really don't care what you are. That's between you and your concept of God. Since I know virtually nothing about Wiccans, I would enjoy meeting and learning what their belief system is. One is never too old to learn.
My word! Just read what urbancoyote wrote. Exactly what your question addresses. How sad.

I think that's a pretty broad (and incorrect) statement... there are SOME Pagans and Christians who hold a lot of animosity towards each other, but I don't think I would say it's anywhere near "always".

human nature. if as a christian (which i am) i am confronted by a pagan (several wiccan friends) a jew (several of them as friends also) or muslim (many, many of them as friends) then i can discuss the differences in our beliefs without every getting angry and so on.
however, many people cant, because when you say you dont believe the exact way that they do, they tend to think you are making a personal attack against them.
also, the pagans dont want the christians to be right, or they realize that they may burn in hell.
we christians dont want the pagans to be right because we are looking for our eternal reward.

I think many of the Pagans are pissed because so many pagan rituals have been stolen by Christianity, and been labeled exclusive to that religion. I don't give a crap either way, but I see their point.

Pagans are evil!
They know all about our Lord and Savior twitching to death on the cross and yet won't worship him and his sacrifice.
They blaspheme the Holy Spirit by blaming all sorts of wars and strife on Christianity and the Christian churches.
When church and state tie the knot and get together to promote Christian values, we are going to have another inquisition to get rid of and mockers and backsliders, starting with those filthy pagans.
Tolerance and humanity don't apply to people who have abandoned their souls to become puppets of the Devil.

We can. The word "hate" gets a lot of overuse. I hate chocolate chip cookies with pecans in them--it is often that kind of hate..

I agree, no need to hate anyone. If they bother you just move on.
