Please show yourself...let us hear you.

I believe this group is from a very small pool of thought..LIBERAL!!!

I’ve been to a few Christian based forums and it makes me cringe because I see the same arguments used by atheists to disprove Christianity, the only difference is that these arguments are being used by Christians to disprove other religions. I also see them in use by Muslims trying to disprove Christianity.

How many of you really believe that your version of God is real, and how so? Do you not realize that other people believe their version of God is Real, and also believe you are irrational, illogical, and have been deceived?

It gets to the point that when I read apologetics I feel that I am listening to a bunch of lawyers.

Do not mistake this post as an insult on you. I want to live a meaningful life just as many of you do and I can not figure out how you are able to do it. I can not narrow my mind to the point of denying everything that conflicts with religion.

If you are to 'love thy neighbor'; why do some of you seek to tell every one that is not of your faith that they a doomed for all eternity? What about Islam who worship the same God that Christians and Jews do so how can some of your fellow Muslims hate Christians and Jews?

after they fled the city? And who is lot?

I realize now that over the years we have spoilt our 19 yr old daughter, due to circumstances beyond our control (the illness and death of my mother, father and brother) I had to spend some time away and I feel with hindsight, that I over compensated her, with gifts and allowing her to get away with behaviour that i did not allow my son to get away with. I have explained why I was away, (she was not left with strangers, her Dad was here). She's behaving like a 15yr old, I have tried all the ways I can think of to get through, but it's like there's a concrete wall between me and her.She reminds me of Harry Enfield's Kevin only worse and not at all funny,so if you've been through this or are going through it now and you have some advice it would be greatly appreciated. If I could i would kick myself for waking up so late, but i'm asking for help as I love her with all my heart and I don't want to loose her. many many thanks

Is 'God' the literal translation of the Arabic word 'Allah', or does 'Allah' mean something else.

And, yes, I know that Allah IS God, that's not the question. I'm asking if 'God' is the only translation.

No out of context crap. THIS is what it says.

It is ok to kill:
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ***." (Samuel 15:2-3).

It is not ok to kill:
"Thou shalt not kill." (Deuteronomy 5:17)

Saying that one is correct and the other isn't means that the Bible is not 100% true like the fundamentalists say it is.

The Bible is mostly oral tradition that was told to someone who told it to someone else etc. who finally wrote it down, so it can't be literally true. So how can you know what god is like and what he/she wants us to do?

If the earth was created by god when he says how did so many people spread out from the Middle East so fast? How could they have crossed the ocean before the technology was available to do so. When we first were able to cross over to what we call the America's there were already established countries there with there own set of values and beliefs. I know the Bearing Strait would have been an option but don't you think it would have been difficult way back then to make the journey to it? Also, wouldn't the people who crossed already know about christianity and would have believed in it? When the christians discovered and recorded it they knew nothing of one god and worshiped omens and multiple gods. And one final point, why would we all look different? We have a long enough recorded history to know that if people from these different regions were going to change in only a few thousand years from how we originally looked, we would have noticed more changes by now. Thanks for the answers.

The Bible states that people should not gossip. "Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the LORD." (Leviticus 19:16)

Apparently, my spirit is from Andromeda. That makes me a star person. I do believe in other wordly beings, but this causes me problems. There could be other beings in our galaxy that could travel between the stars, and indeed come to ours. But from another galaxy altogether?
Why would beings from another galaxy even be interested in ours...let alone a seemingly backwards planet as earth?

Another persons answer to another persons question. I would just like some interesting conversation and refutes to it....
Here Goes...AGAIN THIS IS NOT My oWn Statement it is something I found on here as part of someones answer.

"There is no evidence in the Old Testament to support the assertion that Satan rebelled against God at all. And don't give me that bull about the "serpent" in Genesis 3 being Satan, either - there's no link except the one that has been pounded into your head since you were five years old.

Satan's most prominent appearance in the Old Testament is in the book of Job. Satan, far from being a crafy tempter who tries to cause people to sin, is a part of the LORD's council in heaven and was, if you will, on God's payroll! Indeed, the Catholic Church today, when considering candidates for beatification, identifies a "devil's advocate" to accuse and test the candidate's life and works to make sure s/he is worthy - exactly what Satan does to Job in the OT story.

As an Atheist I've noticed many believers dismiss the possibility that science may come up with an answer to the origin of life. I realize that if scientist do come to a conclusion on the origin of life and it does not match the believers belief it could cause serious problems for the belief industry. I'm thinking you would probably think that it would be impossible for scientist to discover any other possibility then the one you've read in the bible. So that begs the question, do you believe anything else the scientist say. Like do you believe we landed on the moon, cured polio, or how about advances in surgery and medicine? Do you believe the evidence that points to global warming?Do you believe the evidence that shows evolution is happening?Keep in mind believers have been wrong before. Galileo was found guilty for heresy in 1633, imprisoned, and not forgiven until 1992 by the church for his scientific theory that the earth circled the sun. Not the opposite as the church "believed"

I am so excited to be able to be used by God as a witness to others that may need a word from God, a prayer, a hug. All God wants from me is to love Him and to tell of His love, to everyone. Not a hard 'job', is it?

If the USA AND RUSSIA get involved in Isreal it could possibly be WW3.But as christians we all know that we will not witness the tribulation. Any comments greatly appreciated but no smart comments......We really need to pray for this situation. Are you afraid of the coming of christ to reclaim his own people?

Deut 25:11-12

11 If men get into a fight with one another, and the wife of one intervenes to rescue her husband from the grip of his opponent by reaching out and seizing his genitals, 12you shall cut off her hand; show no pity.

For it to be included in the Bible this must have been a problem.

what do you think?
