Deut 25:11-12

11 If men get into a fight with one another, and the wife of one intervenes to rescue her husband from the grip of his opponent by reaching out and seizing his genitals, 12you shall cut off her hand; show no pity.

For it to be included in the Bible this must have been a problem.

what do you think?

Kay,
If your husband was grabbed by the throat and was gasping his last breath, assuming you at least thought "well, there goes my meal ticket" not to say anything about love. Would you grab the other guys ballz to make him think he should let your man go?
Just a hypothetical question mind you.

I just don't understand what the problem is.

Because, you know...if my husband were in a fight with another man, my first instinct is to try and stop the fight by grabbing the other guy by his genitals.

I also run with scissors and take candy from strange men in windowless vans...

My assumption would be such a situation actually occurred during the Exodus prior to this Law being given, thus this command was given so there would be a law regarding such a situation afterward.

God has a sense of humor, i assume, maybe everyone laughed when Moses read this. LOL

This is to show that women should not get in the middle of men's fights. Let alone start giving a hand job to the other guy! I think it goes along with "thou shalt not commit adultry"

Sounds like a crazy situation and a awful punishment. I guess it could happen. Maybe there was a lot of genital grabbing back then.

This was in the Old Testament prior to the New Covenant of today. Of course, any situation like this would rarely happen today.

These are laws for the people of that time to insure that mens generations could continue...they have their meanings ..it is up to you to ask God the meaning ..and his purpose for these things..God bless...

Oh and if you read it from beginning to end you would see that God is also wanting you to judge rightly in situations
