Of course you can. I'm pro American, but I don't agree with all of our government's policies.
Anti-semitism runs deeper than that. It's a virulent world hatred against one nation's right to exist. Many religious leaders inadvertently practice anti-semitism, because they believe that the nation of Israel forfeited its covenant with God when they rejected Christ. That's totally false since it was God who made the covenant with the Jews--not the other way around.
They have been scattered throughout the world for 2000 years, persecuted, exiled, exterminated (witness the Holocaust) and yet they have managed to survive as a unique race, regaining their homeland in 1948.
So go ahead and disagree with their policies, but respect their right to survive as a nation.

Without reading the rest of the answers, I'll say a resounding YES -- the israeli media is incredibly critical of Israeli policy as are many Americans. However, being against a policy of a country must be grounded in political and policy based reasons, not based in an assessment of the people, or the "legitimacy" of the initial position; this last fact is often what ends up being the basis for criticism and as such, it is not the standard second guessing of a government, but a judgment of a government's right to make ANY decisions at all.
Next, there is also the issue of the value and reason for criticism. Criticising the US government from another country is a waste because it turns into a vent session and often an opinion based attack on the American way of thinking. this is not valid as it doesn't take in to account the actual decision making process. People within a country have a broader view of the day to day realities, thus their criticism can be more grounded in practicality. From the outside, a critique from someone fed only one side of an issue is limited by that and the attack turns into an unbalanced statement, not a rational discussion of a big-picture problem.

You can do it, and you may be called an anti-semite, but that does not mean you are one. You will be called a male chauvinist pig if you cross some liberated women, but that does not mean you are one. You may be called a racist if you criticize a black person for any reason, but that does not mean you are one.
As to the spelling, Israeli is misspelled in your question. Noone said criticise was wrong.
You added answerers, which is also misspelled.

Yes, even some Israelis have been known to criticize it ... but some persons unfortunately have difficulty in distinguishing between a government, and entire people, and a major world religion. Stereotyping anyone is not only unkind; it's an act of ignorance against any group.

Of course. But the problem is there are a lot of anti semites out there who use the Israeli policy against terrorism as an excuse to rant against the race in general. That's not cool.

Yes. Plenty of non racist people do. However, I've discovered that many who critisize Israel also want them to either a) not be a state or b) Give a ridiculous amount of land to the Palestinians and c) Not fight back. Ever. This astounds me to no end, for these would surely be the end of the Jews as a nation. So I do wonder at this.

Both sides seem to be hot-heads and Israel are and have been waging war by stealth and subterfuge, as soon as they have accomplished their objective a ceasefire and a new peace will break out, all involved parties are aware of this and are playing chess with the situation, Condolisa Rice will Get the brownie points for this one.

I wouldn't criticise Isreal for anything they are doing right now understanding that I don't know what the best way to defend themselves at this time is.
I do criticise them somewhat in that I want them to take the land promised to them by God. But first I want them, as a nation, to humble themselves to their God, repenting of any wicked way (and their part in Jesus Christ crucifixion) and God will heal their land. So it will get completely restored to them.
I don't think I'm Anti-Sematic at all. I love Israel. I love the same God.

I am sure its possible, but most people that criticize are being anti semetic. I dont know where you live, but lets say for example texas, ok? What if you lived in El Paso Texas, and Mexico started shooting missles at you, and sending suicide bombers in to blow stuff up. What if Mexico started guerilla warfare? And while all this is happening, other countries urged restraint? Would you sit there while Mexico takes pot shots at you? Would you beg the U.N. for help, although you have the ability to fend for yourself?
What if mexico swore to kill everyone in texas?
Isn't that what Israel faces everyday? What is there to criticize?

Yes, you can criticize Isralie policy without being anti-Semitic, although many Jews will view you as anti-Semitic. I'm Jewish, and I live in America, so you can go ahead and criticize Israeli policy.
