Many Protestants also claim to always take the bible at face value in interpreting it. But they make an exception for any verse (or even whole paragraphs) that are clearly consistent which Catholic Church teaching and authority. Prime examples are John chapter 6 and Matthew 16:17-19. Another example is Protestants ignore just about all of the letter of James.

Could God's greatest deceit be convincing us he does exist?

Just a little Gedankenexperiment.

According to the bible, the end of days would not be a peaceful time on the earth. There would be many more wars then there ever were in the past (which is happening right now, or has happened). An explosion of knowledge will happen almost before the end of days. (IMO, the explosion of knowledge is now, considering all the inventions and things of the 20th century.) All this has lead many fundamentalist christians to think the end of days is almost upon us. what do you think? please state your opinion. and please no smart-*** answers.

Would Dan Brown have made so much money if the Catholic church had not made such a big deal about the DaVinci code?

As far as I can tell this universe is indistinguishable from how we would expect it to be if there were no gods. Can you persuade me otherwise?

Theres no such thing as "finding christ" because there is no christ and there is no god. When people say they found that, they didnt find anything they just got weak and they needed to believe in something cause there to weak to get through whatevers going on, but it doesnt make it true the only thats true about it is you got weak and you needed something to rely on so you were searching for myths to believe in to make yourself feel better because you cant accept the truth. Its pathetic. Right everybody? Do you agree and discuss

When Nebuchanednezzar had his dream about the large gold, silver, bronze and (iron and clay) statue. Daniel interprets this dream meaning:
Gold=Babylonian Empire
Silver= Medo-Persian Empire
Bronze=Greek Empire
Iron=Roman Empire

So if Daniel correctly foretold these empires. Why wasn't a huge empire like the British Empire included in this dream. The British Empire was bigger than the Roman Empire.

Let's suppose, for the sake of argument, that a god exists and that he created the universe knowing and intending what would happen at every moment in its entire history (as any ominiscient and omnipotent entity must surely do). How then can we choose to do anything other than what this god already knows we will do? How can there be free will if there is only one possible future? Finally, how can we be held accountable for our actions when there is only one possible outcome of any choice we make? Isn't it the case that this omnipotent omniscient god must be responsible for everything, and us for nothing?

start a war then hide behind their women and children? I think it is so they, the women and kids, will be killed and they can then put them on TV to show how bad Israel is.

I mean God and Mary get all the credit related to Jesus. Joseph raised this kid, fed him, gave him an allowance, taught him how to be a man, etc. No real thanks or credit is given to him in the Bible. Why? I mean, where was God when Jesus was growing up. I'm sure he wasn't paying any child support? Joseph deserves more credit and more billing in the Bible for being the step-dad. Why didn't Jesus talk more about his Joseph and give him honor and respect? Seems like he just falls out of sight after the birthing.

It seems strange that an institution bent on defaming gays as disordered and evil should keep these works on display for the whole world to witness however marvellous, they are a testament to the astounding genius of this homosexual artist... Why haven't these frescoes flying over the heads of so many Popes been removed yet?

IF he was not eternal from the start than if GOD tries to scare him with death is nothing since regardless of time he would be death.
If he did create him eternal first and then took his Eternal life away who says GOD won't cahnge his mind later on when Lovely Christains will be in heaven? And don't tell me GOD never brouke his promiss.
He promissed to abraham that he will have as many childrens of his own as stars in the universe. So far we know Abraham had only 1 son. IF GOD decides to hide the truth he will. IF GOD will decide to reverse heaven and hell he will. He is the GOD and one of us can know true intention of GOD. IS it possible?
