I heard that the US government has recently decided to enforce the law agaist multiple marriages and so the Mormons had to stop it, poor chaps. Nothing much to do at night now.

But if so, what happens with Muslims if they decide to excercise their rights under Islam? It is a long time to wait until they die and can claim the 75 virgins promised to them in the Q'uran.

I'm an agnostic so I consider myself neutral,but I've seen the constant verbal battles between Christians and atheists. It's fun
to watch most of the time,but sometimes I just can't believe some of the people who spout off-on both sides. How about the Christian
who says God is love and He forgives us our sins if we repent but
atheists are all condemned to burn in Hell after death? Or the atheist who declares he can't understand how anyone can be stupid enough to believe in God,but this same atheist can't string together a coherent sentence with spelling and pronunciation that
would shame a five-year-old?

If you're a Christian,atheist or whatever,have you also noticed similar things? Do you have any complaints or observations about
members of another group doing these things?What's your opinion
about the whole deal-I know people like this are part of the program
but why do you think they are?

Christians are ignorant of the New Testament’s portrayal of Jesus; and they are ignorant of the documents hidden by the Church, namely the Gospel of Philip which records the love affair between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The book of Revelation is probably the most degrading book; it contains a passage that describes Jesus having woman breasts!

And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps (mastos) with a golden girdle. (Revelations 1:13)

Let us analyze the passage closely; Jesus is described as having “paps” with a golden girdle. But what are paps? According to the Oxford Dictionary, it basically means the “breasts”. There is evidence to show that “paps” exclusively refers to woman breasts.

The word “paps” could refer to both male and female breasts, but the New Testament applies the Greek word “mastos” to woman only!



And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps (mastos) which thou hast sucked. (Luke 11:27)



For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps (mastos) which never gave suck. (Luke 23:29)



Since the New Testament never applies the word “paps” to males, the verse Revelation 1:13 does speak of Jesus having female breasts! Now if the author of Revelation wanted to say Jesus has MALE breasts, he should’ve used the Greek word “stethos”, which simply means “breast”.

(I'm putting this in 'Religion' because this is where I see this problem the most)

Why do people try to force others into their beliefs? Don't humans have the right to think freely?

Staying with the religious example, it seems that as soon as someone mentions that they don't believe in God, there are a dozen people who freak out: "You're gonna go to Hell!" "Read the Bible, *****!" "I hope God kills you!"

I think people should believe in whatever the Hell they want to, without being judged by others. I'm an Atheist, but I'm not going to search out all Muslims or all Jews and tell them that they shouldn't believe. If sleeping with a Bible under your pillow makes you happy, then I won't stand in your way.

I just wonder why others don't think the same.

I know that there are many different ways of finding god and latly ive been looking into mysticism as a way and i know of a few mystic sects of other relegions (kabalah, whirling dirvishes) but none of catholic ties. To save you the bother of checking my profile, I am an atheist! I have been 'slagging off ' religion on this forum for some months.
But now I need your help!!
I am pretty well up on the contents of the bible, (old and new testaments) and also many many other religious books!
I am presently 'putting a book together' for a friend, the book will contain "messages" recieved from the 'spirit world'
I have already placed this question on the philosophy page, and had a few replies!
Now have you read or have any reference to these words!
"What use is time"?
"What use is scale"?(as in measurement)
When neither exists outside of man.
If you can help I may stop 'slagging you off' (for a while)!!

I listen to all kinds of music and lately so many songs are mentioning Jesus and God and stuff. Songs done by artists that are not considered "Christian" in genre ex: Diamond Rio, Sawyer Brown, Carrie Underwood etc. even some pop artists are talking about Jesus and God (in a good way!!) ..
