They say "Peace be upon him" after the name of Muhammad or other Muslim holy figure..., which gets annoying not because of the choice of words - but the repeated Parroting of those words as if it is a requirement if Islam that they do that.

It is intended to be a phrase of respect - but like I said VERY annoying to say that over and over and over and over...

I am glad I am a Christian. I praise my God and also show respect to Jesus without "Vain" repetitions.

We say subhanahu wa taa'ala after mentioned Allah's (swt) name. It's abbreviated (swt) which means "the exalted most high". We also call Allah (swt) by his 99 names (the Great, the Merciful,...etc). I do as much as I can to include these praises but I'm human and sometimes neglectful.

Victor ious, to us it's not annoying and it honors me to Glorify Allah (swt), and praise his Prophets (upon them peace) over and over again. As nothing is done without a reward from Allah (swt).

For Mohmmad we may say PBUH (peace be upon him), but for Allah we may say SWT (Subhanaho wa Ta'ala) Praise be unto him.

I think it is actually "peace be unto him." The phrase is a blessing, like "may God bless you." It wouldn't make sense to ask God to bless himself, nor in Islam is it appropriate to conceive of God as a being who would require that humans give blessings to him. God is beyond the need of blessings, and humans could not bless a greater being if they wanted to.

Well, b/c "Peace be unto Him" means that the person you are talking about would hopefully go to Heaven when it is time, and God, well, He is obviuosly already in Heaven...so yeah.

(It isn't praise be unto him, its peace be unto him)

How could you send Peace and blessings upon the giver of peace and blessings. Thats why we don't send peace and blessings upon God. We say Peace be upon him after all of the prophets names (Abraham, Noah, Solomon, Jesus etc. )
