1. A teacher or student of morals and moral problems. 2. One who follows a system of moral principles. 3. One who is unduly concerned with the morals of others.

The above definitions are taken from the source quoted below.

Morals are defined by general social conditions. What one society may find moral, another is likely to find immoral. Someone who is brought up in the current society's structures and embraces them will likely be consider "moral" per the second definition.

There are those who are "moralists" per the first definition. These people evaluate the different systems and help to develop means of implementing and understanding them. This may be due to innate talent or genuine interest. Whether that talent in that person is in adundance or one of many, that's an individual issue and not easily answerable.

Then we have the third definition which often has a negative connotation. These are the people that rail against behaviors and activities that they feel goes against their moral structures even when those activities and behaviors are acceptable within the society where they take place. Many seem to confuse "moral" behavior with legal behavior. Sexuality, sadly, is one of those areas.

Many legal opinions have said that what two consenting adults of legal age do in the privacy of their homes and/or bedrooms is not the government's business. However, some "moralists" cannot accept that and continue to decry those activities even when no one except the participants are affected. In this case, I do think that these "moralists" do it because they cannot otherwise be taken seriously.

I think morality does come easier to some people than others. I am not sure whether it is a biological thing or nurturing thing or both. I have always had pretty righteous desires since I was younger. A lot of times I put them aside to follow the crowd that wasn't so righteous. It doesn't matter really if it comes easy or not, we have to do the best with what we've got and we always have to be willing to change when we realize our actions might not be in alignment with God.

We were all born with sinful tendencies. This is probably where nurture has more input than nature.

If someone is raised low or weak morals, then they are likely to live that way. If someone is raised with high or strong morals, then they might be likely to continue with this lifestyle.

However, all people still choose how they will live.

At this point, the playing field is even again. Each of us is capable of choosing our lifestyle.

What is the source of morality? God.

How do we become moral? Become closer to God.

So although there are several factors in determining our initial morality, by far, the greatest factor is our willingness to be moral and our dedication to growing closer to God.

Morality may seem like the preferred manner of judgment for some folks, so it may come real easy. For those who are learning through religion and educated parents, it is a daily lesson in life. These people will learn to grow in others ways, as well, but morally they will flourish.
For those who find it silly or too much trouble, I pray for.

Morality is largely acting in a way which places the needs of others above or equal to one's own. This can be forced on a person through rules and legislation, but some people learn to be caring and empathetic by being exposed to good examples and don't need to be told right from wrong-- they instinctively know.

A lot is how you were trained as you grew up, if your parents are moral or not. It is a learned thing, not a given. WE are all evil continually, the bible says but only through training and faith can we become moral.

Morality is something that is taught, like integrity.
My favorite definition of integrity is: "Doing what is right when nobody is there to witness your actions". I believe the same rings true for morals.

People are moral because they feel it's good to treat others as they would want to be treated. Don't we all know the difference between right and wrong if we listen to ourselves?

Its like walking. It takes a while to stand up and move, but once you've been walking for a while, its hard to go back to crawling. Everyone has the potential, but if you don't try to be moral, you won't be.
