The fact that you do not wish to believe in God, is up to you. Your belief that there is no God is just as strong as those who do believe. Are you weak and pathetic because you believe that this is all there is? I would say, no, and I will not have to resort to name calling and belittling you, for that in it self is being weak. Passion is a great thing, but compassion is a whole lot better.
If the people who accepted Christ were weak, and they found new strength from accepting Christ, how is that wrong? Here is a true story for you. A young couple just had their first child a short time ago. Everything has been going great. They are in the routine set by the baby on feeding. The baby always gets fed about the same time each day. One night they wake up, and it is quiet. They go to check on the baby, but the baby had died. The medical examinier says it was SIDS. The young couple is shattered. Time moves forward, and one day the couple enters into a church, looking for some kind of answer. The people where friendly, and welcomed them. No preasure, No judgement. They start attending that church weekly, because it seems to help. Through conversation and the two of them reading the Bible, they eventually accept Christ freely. They were not "brainwashed", and no one had a gun to their heads. It is something that they wanted to do.Their life starts to improve, for they have hope again. Now, by your standards they are weak and pathetic. These are your very words. I wonder how you would handle losing your child, and I pray that you never do. I see strength, for they could have let this destroy their relationship, and possibly their own lives. Instead they cried for help, and received it. They found strenghth through faith in a belief. Faith in something they cannot see, but it is in what they feel. A reminder that this story is true, and there are many stories just like them. I guess I am happy to believe, because through life, I can look up with hope, not down with scientific theory, which equals nothing. It is a choice. May God Bless you in your pursuit of life.

I think those things are important for people. It is clearly a psychological/biological need in humans. They've even found something referred to as the "God gene", a part of the genetic code that gives people the ability and propensity to believe in a force greater than themselves. People without this gene are considered a mutation. Interesting right? I am probably missing it, maybe you are too. It doesn't seem to really matter though... at least I can't feel afraid of His wrath or of Hell. Sometimes it's sad because I can't call on a higher force for support in those times of need, and I've tried, but I just don't feel anything, I just can't believe. Anyway, I think it's a good thing for those who need it, but if you don't need it, then that's fine too. I find myself with more time to do more productive things than praying or spending time in church since I don't believe. I find that now I have time to devote to people in need and to making things better instead of focusing on some external force for which there is no proof of existence.

"There's no such thing as "finding christ" because there is no christ and there is no god."
You're correct, of course, but why bother posting that here? As you can see from the first ten answers, the intelligence quotient of most people who respond to comments on this board is somewhere between zero and thirteen.

The Bible talks about such as yourself. "The fool has said in his heart there is no God".
You make sweeping statements of which you have no proof.
Chrisitans KNOW God exists, because they have a relationship with Him. How can you have a relationship with someone who does not exist?????
Don't rely on your limited thinking, or hearsay. The Bible says Those who seek me will find me, when they search for me with all their heart".

You may have a point, however it is not weakness that drives people to organized religion, it is desperation. There may be no christ, no god, but there is good and there is evil and they reside inside of each and every one of us. We are here with freedom of choice and we choose to either be good or bad to do either good or bad. It is out of desperation that most people go looking for something to help them fit in or understand, and if it works for them then it is not a weakness it is strength.

You are way off base. Everything is a manifestation that there is God, especially you agency to allow you to feel the way you do & to ack like a son of the Devil
Faith is the substatce of things hoped for, the evidence of
things nor seen

There is a Christ, there is a God, I found them when I wasn't even looking. I was not weak, I was not afraid, I was not searching for relief, for help, for justification. So no, for me, your argument holds no water.

I disagree with you. The reason being when I hear someone talking this way they have doubt and they want as many people to agree with them possible.....You sound angry at something you don't understand. Instead of sounding angry you should have a two way conversation with a christian, they might learn something and you never know you might too!

If you are so sure you are correct, why would you bother with such a question... fact is you do have doubts as to the "non-existence" of God... you can't avoid it.. God hascreated youwith a conscience and a spirit that attests to his reality.. it is up to you to respond to his leading of you to seek him that he would reveal himself to you by faith.
