In Biblical terms, I am an adulterous, and as guilty of sin as any homosexual. Will I give it up, probably not, but I suppose, under the terms you state, I probably should.

I haven't had sex since I became a Christian because I'm not married. So the answer to your question in my case is yes. I also haven't had a drink of alcohol since becoming a Christian and I used to get drunk every day and had an addiction to alcohol. There is power in the blood of Christ and in his Spirit.

I've found new activities to replace my old destructive ones. Also there are many testimonies of former homosexuals who have been healed of the things from their past that led them into that lifestyle. They've gone on to get married and have normal sexual relations.

Did you know that studies show that the majority of men who call themselves homosexual show that they were either abused sexually as children or they had a distant or abusive father and an overbearing mother?

I bring that up because there is no evidence that homosexuality is genetic. In almost all cases there is a clear history of social conditions during the formative years of childhood that resulted in a person acting out on homosexual desires until they became "the norm" in their lives.

In this passage Paul is addressing people like myself who "were" these things.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Certainly. I am 42 years old and have always been at least technically celibate. For the past 22 years, furthermore, I have not engaged in any non-platonic behavior with anyone at all (even the five men with whom I have discussed marriage during that time).

And imagine that I am actually happy with how I live. It feels beautiful to love everyone and lust after no one. And I plan to stay that way unless I get married.

And there is no guarantee that I ever will... I leave that in God's hands too: I am not looking for anyone - and given that I spend almost all of my time alone, it would take a miracle...

Yes, I would gladly give up my sex life if Jesus Christ asked me to. After what He did for me on the cross, no stupid pleasure on the earth is worth selling out on God and what hE HAS IN STORE FOR US!!!!!

1 John 2:17

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

If that was what was required of me in the scriptures then I would have to say an unqualified "Yes". If a heterosexual lifestyle was considered an abomination then I would have to give it up. However this is not the case and what if scenarios are meaningless.

The term is Christians, much like you want to do with Christmas please don't leave Christ out!!

There are already Christians out there who give up their sex lives for Jesus. They're called nuns and monks.

I would pluck out my own eye if it offended my religion and beliefs so yes I would without doubt give up sex for Jesus.

Let's not lump all Christians together, when you generalize you make a ace out of yourself.

Also, it is quite disrespectful to shorten Christ to "x"
