The Torah was passed down through the centuries orally before it was written down, it is impossible to nail down the exact authors and dates of many books of The Bible, every handwritten copy of The Bible is different from the rest, and there are many different translations of The Bible. Considering these few issues why is the Christian Bible treated as a reference of the word of God?

I've read the bible, but remain unconvinced. I do not discount the possibility that God may exist, or that some being that seems Godlike in nature exists, however, I will not put my faith in something that may or may not exist. What evidences should I be looking at to persuade me to have more faith?

I know everybody has there own views, and some ppl don't even believe in God. Yet even those that don't believe, will sometimes blame all the bad on God. I just don't get it.

If heaven is the ultimate destination for Christians, and if after death Jesus wound up in heaven with his father, then what did God sacrifice? I could understand if Jesus died on the cross and went to hell for our sins. Now, that would be a sacrifice. But to wind up in a destination that everyone is trying to get to anyway, sorry I don't get it. Another thing I don't understand is a religion that promises everlasting life, and yet its most sacred symbol is a dead man hanging on a stick. I'm supposed to take such a religion seriously?

Can you honestly tell me without using a religious text as a means to justify such a belief that an all-powerful God would ever be concerned with someone's sex life? Could you truly see an all-knowing creator lowering himself to such a trivial matter?

Killing all those people with a "worldwide" flood.

Killing the first born Egyptian children. They were innocent. I want an apology!

I keep hearing about this "god" person. I did some research and learned that more people have been slaughtered in the name of this god person than for any other reason in the history of mankind, yet when I try to track him down I'm told to look at some book or i'm told that it's some invisible man in the sky ( i think i have a little more common sense than that)
Whoever this god person is, he's well-funded and seems to be more protected than osama bin laden. I know he's out there somewhere because alot of people swear that they have regular conversations with him.
He needs to be tracked down and brought to justice!

I'm serious. I'm not trying to get people to agree with me, I want an honest answer. Does it say in the Bible that people can't be gay? Because I've never read or heard about an actual passage in the Bible where it talks about homosexuality. I also have never seen where it says that people can't have sex out of wedlock. I know that people say that a woman was a whore, but in the Bible it never said that she was specifically a whore, just that she was a sinner. I don't know my Bible that well, but I'm trying to learn what's right and wrong just according to the Bible. So can someone please help?

I remember someone teaching years ago at my school )private Christian school) something about either Satan or the Anti-christ knowing the Bible word for word, accuratley, without ever having to look up the verse. I know the Bible says even Satan believes and trembles, but is there any verse or prophecy about the Anti-Christ knowing it from memory, or was it Satan? This was years ago, so over time I have forgotten? Am I WAY of the mark with this one?

Another poster asked a question a minute ago about "another son of God", and mentioned someone from the Phillipines knowing the bible from memory, and I thought I had heard that theroy before, does anyone know?
