Or is it that what once was,now is not...or a slip of the lip...or maybe not meant to apply to everyone..taken out of context...what once was right now is wrong...god made a misstake...changed his mind

This was a practice in the Old Testament Hebrew culture.

The rule was that if a teenage child (more likely a son) because truly unmanageable and would not respect the authority of his parents (and of society) he was to be warned that he could be killed if he continued in that path. If he did not repent of this (and turn away from destructive behavior) he would be killed to protect the society...

The rule was not meant to be arbitrarily used... no parent who loved their child would invoke this law except in the direst of circumstances.

In fact there is no record of the law having been ever invoked (to kill a rebellious youth).

So the purpose of the law was more as a warning to such youths to behave (and the warning appears to have worked in the Hebrew culture of the time)...

Cordially,
John

If you are obligated to tithe, you are obligated to stone unruly children as well. These 'laws' are all part of the same barbaric ancient legal code.

Geeze, I post the stinking passage in question and at least two more sheep don't even notice and think there is no such BS in the Bible. I'm starting to appreciate why Drowning Pool wrote "Let the bodies hit the floor".

This is why many people choose not to follow the Bible because after careful analysis, one can see the various inconsistencies, fallacies, and contradictions contained in the Bible.

You must be thinking of what Christians actually do as opposed to what the Bible says. I realize that it's all very confusing, but Christians are the biggest hypocrites known to man.

God says the punishment for sin is death. but sinners r ppl who commit sin right??? but the ppl who are cleaned thru Jesus' blood r no longer covered in that sin. so ppl who r not watch in Jesus' blood r sinners...beucz they still have the sin! so they shall go to hell becuz they rejected God...and Hell...is practicaly death...its like ur dead except ur still alive...and burning and u just wont die....but u want to! so there it is. but if ur washed, u will have eternal life with Jesus happily in Heaven. =)

God did not make a mistake...if He did...I would not follow behind Him becuz i would be afraid that He's leading me down the wrong path...and I'm arent i??? becuz i have followed the Bible....and I'm still here.... God didnt make a mistake with you nor me...not with anyone...and not in His Word.

Jesus said that punishment for all sin is death, so I fail to see where you find the inconsistency...
