A Jew is someone who follows the religion of Judaism.
You cant be Jewish unless A) You convert to Judaism or B) Your mother is Jewish.
Hitler not only killed Jews but he also killed all other minorities, including, Gypsies and Gays.
He killed those people because, in his disturbed mind, he wanted to "cleanse" Germany of the minorities. He wanted a "superior" Aryan race.
The history of the Jews is hard to explain in a few sentences but the Jews have a rich history. As do other peoples in the world. :)

A Jew is anybody that was born or converted to Judaism. You're correct, Jesus was a Jew. Early Hebrew history can be found in the Old Testament, especially the first five books of the bible.
Hitler thought the Jews were inferior to the Aryans, and were too influental for being a minority population.

A "Jew" is a person after 1948 who believed in the tenets of the hebrew faith, a descendent of the tribe od Abram, later called Abraham in the Old Testament. Jesus was not a Jew. He was a Hebrew from the line of David a descendent of Abraham and Adam for that matter. The term"Jew" popped up around 1948 when the zionist hebrews displaced by World War 2 banded together and formed an army to reclaim what they considered to be the "Promised Land", what was then partially Palestine. They were to call the country Israel and the capital city was to be Jerusalem. The term "Jew" comes from the city name Jerusalem. And as for the 6,000,000 or more Hebrews killed by the Nazi's in World War 2, there are many schools of thought as to why Hitler singled them out for eradication. One thought was that he blamed the german Hebrews for the loss in World War 1. Hitler thought they were to civilised in battle because they knew they had lives and money to come home to. Another thought was that communism in the East was being lead by Marx and Engels who were both Hebrew at birth. Still another thought was that Hebrews had managed to survive and prosper in the Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and French empires even though the empires fell into ruin. Hitler did not want the same thing happening with his newly formed Arian empire. Needless to say, doing away with the hebrews opened jobs and property to other germans so it looked to many in germany like Hitler was succeeding in his quest to rule the world and strengthen the German economy. At any rate those are the answers to all the questions you asked. I hope that this is not for some pegorative campaign. a word only becomes negative if you use it in such a manner.

Any person whose religion is Judaism. In the broader sense of the term, a Jew is any person belonging to the worldwide group that constitutes, through descent or conversion, a continuation of the ancient Jewish people, who were themselves descendants of the Hebrews of the Old Testament. In ancient times, a YÄhÅ«dhÄ« was originally a member of Judah—i.e., either of the tribe of Judah (one of the 12 tribes that took possession of the Promised Land) or of the subsequent Kingdom of Judah (in contrast to the rival Kingdom of Israel to the north). The Jewish people as a whole, initially called Hebrews (Ê¿Ivrim), were known as Israelites (Yisreʾelim) from the time of their entrance into the Holy Land to the end of the Babylonian Exile (538 bc). Thereafter, the term YÄhÅ«dhÄ« (Latin: Judaeus; French: Juif; German: Jude; and English: Jew) was used to signify all adherents of Judaism, because the survivors of the Exile (former inhabitants of the Kingdom of Judah) were the only Israelites who had retained their distinctive identity.
Hitler hated them because they were a great scapegoat at the time for everything that was wrong in Germany.

They were God's chosen people in the Hebrew Bible(or the Old Testament). They were descendants of Israel(Jacob), and through Him descendants of His son Judah(thus the word Jew is derived from Judah).

Jew are people who have always lived in Israel. Who like the girl above me said, don't believe in Jesus and are still waiting for their Messiah. Hitler killed them because he felt superior to them and because he didn't like them. I say he was a horrible man and a monster who had No heart.
