I remember someone teaching years ago at my school )private Christian school) something about either Satan or the Anti-christ knowing the Bible word for word, accuratley, without ever having to look up the verse. I know the Bible says even Satan believes and trembles, but is there any verse or prophecy about the Anti-Christ knowing it from memory, or was it Satan? This was years ago, so over time I have forgotten? Am I WAY of the mark with this one?
Another poster asked a question a minute ago about "another son of God", and mentioned someone from the Phillipines knowing the bible from memory, and I thought I had heard that theroy before, does anyone know?

Having existed for a long period of time, Satan would've had plenty of time to memorize scripture. It is one of his best tools of attack. His power is in the lie, and to lie most effectively, he needs to know the truth.
Remember, Lucifer was one of God's most glorious works prior to him allowing pride to enter his heart. He is very intelligent and crafty. He uses this knowledge to much effectiveness.
In the Bible, when Satan tempts Jesus in the wilderness, after Jesus answers with scripture, Satan takes scripture and twists it in his third and final temptation, and Jesus catches him in it. So we see from scripture he does what you are describing, but I don't know of any particular verse that says he knows the Bible front and back. I would assume this, though.
I wouldn't be too concerned about this particular person...the Bible tells us that false Christs will appear in the latter days, there's no reason to think this person would be the antichrist.
If you believe the rapture to be true, then under that belief, the antichrist will not be revealed until after the rapture.

I am not a christian (agnostic), but I have heard this too. You have to remember the story. The devil was supposed to have been a fallen angel. An angel would now the bible word for word, just as they would know how to speak every language on Earth. If angels do exist then you can bet they have a bible that has way more chapters than the one that we have. Probably why it seems as though the devil knows the future and can see things that we can not. Weird if you think about it. What if the devil actually had a hand in the way that most people interpret the Bible through out the history of man. It is said that only 666 souls will be allowed into heaven, there are way more Christians on Earth than that, may God takes those who are not tricked by the manipulation of human religion.

I'm looking at the book of Revelations and do not see the part about the Bible, Revelations chapter 13, and in 2 thessalonians 2, it mentions about the antiChrist, but nothing about him knowing the bible.
Now the Bible does say that satan can transform himself to appear to be an Angel of light, but IF you are a christian and know the word well enough, you'll be able to defend yourself against his lies, by simply repeating the right scripture against his lying words.

Don't worry about it. I have to ask myself on your question, what difference does it really make if satan knows the bible word for word or not. Clearly, he does not understand it, or he would have surrendered a long time ago!
Fact is, it is possible for a man to memorize the entire bible, why should it be a feat for satan to do so?
Jesus said, it's not the letter of the law that makes alive, but the spirit of it. In other words, the meaning. satan knows the bible well, but understands nothing of what it means. For example, would he have used Judas and the Sanhedrin to execute Jesus if he understood it was that very act that ushered in salvation for lost mankind? Think about it.

If you believe in good, you believe in evil. Satan will know every nook and cranny of the Bible to be able to tempt you. I'm not familiar with an exact passage. The Anti-Christ will have to be very good to fool a large number of people. As far as knowing the Bible from memory, most Jewish rabbi's know the old testament completely. It's part of their life-long training. And I do mean completely.

II Corinthians 11:14 says, that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. vs. 15 then goes on to say that it is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.
Typically, whenever satan has spoken it has been a twisting of the truth. He takes portions of spiritual truth and slightly changes it which of course makes it completely wrong.
look at many of the cults in our society today, so many take portions of scripture, anecdotes of God's truth or morale principles based in God's word and develop an entire movement. This approach goes back to Buddha and beyond and will just continue until the end. Then, the God of all truth will be revealed and everyone will bow before Jesus and declare that He is Lord of all.

People assume that the Devil knows the Bible because Satan quoted two scripture verses (from the only psalm written by Moses) out of context in an attempt to talk Jesus into committing suicide as one of the three temptations of Jesus.
Since the Devil is smart, I suppose that he knows a lot of things. Don't worry about it.

Even the Demons know that God is one and tremble (James 2). I think that they were saying that Satan has been around for so long and is so smart, that he knows the bible word for word. That is a postulation, not from a verse in the bible.

Satan (or Lucifer) was created by God. Remember that He has been around before the creation of man! So, thinking about it logically, he was there when it all began, he was the one who started and led the uprising of the rebellious angels, he was thrown out of heaven and cast down with his followers... and he was the one who challenged God for the heart of man! So, in conclusion, Satan knows the scriptures and the destiny of the human soul and (most important of all), HIS OWN DESTINY! That is why he is trying to take as many with him to hell as he can. He has been around for thousands of years terrorising man - and the best weapon is like the old saying - "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"...or in other words - he has done his homework on "how to destroy christians" and comes as an "angel of light", when everything in him is black! Be confident in this - he is a worthy opponent!

First of all, you need to understand, the "Antichrist", (False Messiah), is NOT going to be a man.
It is going to be a Political figure, that is fatally shot in the head and dies in the street in a crowd of people.
Satan fills his dead lifeless body with HIS spirit, and it looks like the man comes back to life. People all over the world will see this and believe, it is the true Messiah. He came back to life.
NOW....That's why people years ago, thought it would be Hitler, Then Abe Lincoln, Then john F. Kennedy. They were all shot in the head and died. The Antichrist will not even be from the USA. the false prophet has to appear first.
Keep your eyes on SPAIN.
Good Question.
