No other holy book has had so universal a distribution, nor does any have origins even half as old. The Koran of Mohammedanism is less than 1,400 years old. Buddha and Confucius lived about 2,500 years ago, and their writings date from that time. The Scriptures of Shinto were composed in their present form no more than 1,200 years ago. The Book of Mormon is only 140 years old. None of these holy books can accurately trace human history back through 6,000 years, as does the Bible. To understand original religion, we must therefore go to the Bible. It is the only book with a universal message for all mankind.
The wisdom and beauty of the Bible message have been acclaimed by thinking men from all nations and from all walks of life. The famous scientist and discoverer of the law of gravity, Sir Isaac Newton, said: “No sciences are better attested to than the Bible.” Patrick Henry, the American revolutionary leader famous for the words “Give me liberty, or give me death,” also declared: “The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed.” Even the great Hindu sage Mahatma Gandhi once told the British viceroy of India: “When your country and mine shall get together on the teachings laid down by Christ in this Sermon of the Mount, we shall have solved the problems, not only of our countries but those of the whole world.” Gandhi was speaking of Matthew, chapters 5 to 7, in the Bible.
The Bible is one Book, with one powerful theme—the vindication of Jehovah’s sovereignty and the ultimate fulfillment of his purpose for the earth by means of his Kingdom under Christ, the Promised Seed. From the Bible’s opening pages, this one theme is developed and explained through the writings that follow, until, in its closing chapters, the glorious reality of God’s grand purpose by means of his Kingdom is made clear.

Every handwritten copy is different because like the Torah, the Bible was also orally passed down before it was written down. It's like the game of telephone that you used to play when you were a kid. Someone would start out saying "Suzie has brown hair" and it would end up being "Suzie likes George." Its different because its probably changed a bit.

Just a few things:
66 books from different individuals from ASIA-AFRICA-EUROPE over 1500 years.
who never met each other wrote the Bible.
Names, Dates, Places, Events we can check out Historically and Archaeological, NOTHING invalidates the Bible.
The argument they hope you believe is Bible translations.
Our English Bible went back to source documents..there are at least 6,000 and 120AD being the earliest. Syrian, Coptic and Latin.
Compare that to Socrates of which there are NO copies, Aristotle with less than 10 copies and Caesar about 10 copies.

it's considered 'tthe bible' because it's the only written source for a person of the faith. all canonical bibles share the exact same qualities, stories, books and such. though wording may be different, all bibles were uniformed hundreds of years ago. differens come from the pseudepigrapha, the dead sea scrolls, the apocrypha, and other God-inspired texts written by pagans, christians, jews and the gnostics that were for one reason or another left out of the canonical version of THE book that most christians would consider the bible. it is THE bible because it is the accepted and approved collection of books and deemed enough for the faith by church officials.

The Holy Spirit can speak and reveal God's Words through any translation or amount of time. Try to understand His Word in the Spirit instead of in the natural realm and authors and translations won't matter.

King James put forth his best men to translate the bible from Hebrew to the KJV....He knew fully well that mistranslation would buy him unwanted time with God....Many say NIV or New Life "speak to them"....okay great.
I read KJV, until I learn Hebrew....this is the closest I'm getting...King James pretty much nailed down the authors...so like I said.....till I learn Hebrew....

Because of the impact that its words have had in the lives of many people -- convincing them that it is indeed from God.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
Over a period of time, as I read the Bible, I grew increasingly convinced that what it said was true -- and that the picture of Christ that it presented was true.. and that Christ could be truly known (personally) by even me -- and I finally committed my life to Christ -- and have had numerous things happen in my life that have convinced me that the Bible is true, and that the Christian God does exist and that he is in daily relationship with me (as Father / child).
Cordially,
John

Why Christian Bible treated as a reference of the word of God?
Because God spoken unto us these last days by his Son. Hebrews1:1-2
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

The Torah does not state that Jesus came and Died for our Sins
Therefore the Torah leaves it open so that when the Devil comes and Says Here am I .....I am He those who go by the Torah will run to him
