Opinion polls say most christians believe in evolution, yet the bible says the earth was created in 7 days around 6,000 yrs ago?

Do these "Luke-warm" christians know what their bible states as scientific fact?

If you "really" believe your bible you have to deny the reality of the many different, and independent, radiometric dating processes which all establish the earth is, in fact, over 4.5 billion years old.

Sorry, thumpers, can't have it both ways...

We're trying to break down the barriers that the "Old Church" had put up against new comers. People were hesistant to show up so we made some changes to our worship, our look, what we offer. And now we're trying to figure out a new communion.

so far we're thinking of Fig Newtons.

Instead of bread and wine or grape juice, everyone will just get a Fig Newton, so that the cake represents his body, and the fruity filling reps his blood. That way, we were hoping people would say "AAHH! Jesus is SWEET!!"

Does this sound like a good idea?

How can you (not all of you, but those that are quick to judge others beliefs) speak of an all loving God then condemn others because they don’t believe?
God said to spread the word, not judge or condemn. Let the “lost” find their own way.
If he loves me (& any one who has tried to convert me, or has had the common courtesy to have an Adult conversation about their beliefs with me, says he does) I’m sure he wouldn’t think it’s ok for people that claim to follow him & his word to hurt or say mean full things in his name.
Open up your eyes people, it not ok to “warn” people they’re going to Hell. Most of you don't “warn” anyone about it, you shove it down their throat.
How am I, or anyone else, supposed to be receptive to that? It’s rude & obnoxious.
I don’t tell you you’re going to spend eternity in the most miserable place imaginable. How dare any of you that tell people they’re going to Hell claim to be his servants.
I don’t think that’s what he’d want.

I had this awesome and spooky feeling today as i was praying that there is a life for me thats so wonderful and so outrageously good...BUT...I have to go out and get it. I have to pray and do things that are different and ask Jesus to make me free from the " pre-conceived ideas " in my head... what do you think ? Any advice ?

In the same section of the bible that states homosexuality is a sin, it also states that children who disobey their parents should be stoned. So, for all of the Christians who think homosexuality is wrong "because the bible says so," do you stone your children too? Do you take every word of the bible literally? You can't pick and choose which parts you want to follow. If some parts of it are outdated, maybe it all is.
