What really amazes me is that some of the longest answers are not true. So I would say people don't like something they don't understand. They feel threatened for some reason. Maybe because they feel that if they don't understand it then it must be bad.
I am going to answer just a few of these comments here because they are the ones I see the most in Yahoo Answers.
1) Mormons do not practice poligamy in secret or in the open. Poligamy is not new to this world many of the Old Testimant Prophets practiced poligamy (Issaic, Jacob, Abraham). And if you check the internet there are several Christian groups promoting poligamy that have nothing to do with Mormons.
2) The quote in the Book of Revalations about not adding or taking anything away from this book applies only to the Book of Revalations. Why? because the Bible itself was not compiled until the 4th century BC by a scrip/clerk of Alexander the Great. The scrib is the one who put the books in the order they are and decided which books to include in the Bible. There were several that he felt were not relevent or gave enough doctorine. This was a decision made by a man, not God. I think he may have been influnced by the Holy Ghost though.
3) The Mormon Church was never in jepardy of loosing it's tax exempt status as a church because it did not allow Blacks to have the priesthood or go into the Temple. Remember that the Aryian Nations also has a church that does not allow blacks and they are still tax exempt to this day. Besides there is a seperation of Church and State in the US. Unless a Church is State sponsered the goverment has no say in who they allow to join or what they segragate there members by. It was a decision that had been prayed about by the previous prophets also. Why not until 1978? I don't know but that is when it happened. I mean the US Navy did not have a black Master Diver until 1984. Now that is scary because they are the Goverment.
4) Depending on your definition of Christianity will decide if you think Mormons are Christians or not. If you beleive a Christian is a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ then Mormons are Christian. They do think there are 2 parts of being saved. The first is being reserected at the 2nd coming that is that you need to beleive in Christ to be saved. The 2nd part we believe is that for you judgement and reward in Heavan (to put it plainly) is based upon how you lived in this life. Did you follow the 10 commandments and the new laws and Christ gave in the Bible? Did you do what you could to be as good as you could be?
5) The Book of Mormon is another Testiment of Jesus Christ. Are the people of the Americas decendants of the Isrealites Some may be but that does not mean all are. As far as the DNA testing that everyone keeps quoting. Read it, the person who did it says he did not test all different groups just a few in North America so I think it is true and you aren't going to sway me becasue I have faith that it is.
So here is my 2 cents worth. Hope this helps answer your question.

Your question is a bit vague and the grammar is appalling...
Which people are you referring to that don't like the Mormons?
Why is this a concerning you?
Not all people dislike Mormons, some people will like the Mormon faith but most won't have an opinion at all. A lot of people don't like Christians full stop, some don't like Muslims or Buddhists etc etc etc.
without being specific on a religious question you'll get ignorant answers from all sorts of idiots.

...because it was made up by a teenager before there was television to waste his time, so he probably started staring at the sun too long and made up this whole new religion based on one acid trip of his. It contradicts the rest of the Bible (Revelation 22:18-19). I read the whole Book of Mormon and many of the stories seem very familiar to the rest of the Bible. It sounds like Smith made them up on the top of his head. The sea voyage to America sounds a lot like Noah's Ark to me. There are other stories that sound like events from Genesis, Exodus, Joshua, and many other books in the REAl Bible all spliced together. I don't hate the Mormon church it's just that I don't like Joseph Smith very much, and since that is like their founding father, I stay away from them.

It's a cult...Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are really wolves that will tear you apart.
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets will appear and will lead many people astray.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach their destructive heresies about God and even turn against their Master who bought them. Theirs will be a swift and terrible end.
Revelation 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
Besides the above:
One of many reasons: Males become gods if they are good enough...
- Don't hold Jesus Christ and his teachings in high esteem as they do Joseph Smith Jr. and his teachings
- JSJ has three different accounts of the monumental moment that changed his life. The three different accounts change, when, where and who appeared to him.
- All of the other churches in the world got it wrong and he was able to "find" the true gospels. Matthew 16:18 Now I say to you that you are Peter, [ Peter means "stone" or "rock."] and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell [ Greek and the gates of Hades.] will not conquer it.
- Most of the Book of Mormon is taken from the KJV (King James Version) and the golden tablets were supposed to be written 1000 years prior to the KJV.
- He (Joseph Smith Jr.) was a polygamist, he denies it but was married to more than 30 women and some of them had living husbands. Genesis 2:23"At last!" Adam exclaimed. "She is part of my own flesh and bone! She will be called `woman,' because she was taken out of a man." 24This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. ((If male and female become one...then neither can be married to another...then they wouldn't be one)).
-Mormons believe that dark skinned people are cursed
-Mormons also believe that Native Americans are Jews (DNA) proved this to be false
There are many reasons Christians believe that the Mormon religion is a false (cult) religion...
And when it comes down to it, if you press a Mormon about his religion, they will shut down. They blindly believe someone that had questionable morals (busted for using a "looking glass" to find treasure on property of the gullable owners; married to more than one person at a time. He couldn't be trusted with worldly matters, let alone spiritual ones.
The Book of Mormon clearly distorts the New Testament of the Holy Bible and the road to Salvation (Hope) where it is clearly laid out.
How many more reasons would you like?

Mormons (LDS & RLDS) are real good people. They are moral and upstanding citizens. But their religion is a dangerous cult that will send them all to hell. Thats why Christians don't like the Mormon church-it is false. The Mormons are lied to. They do not know better.

"Incest and homosexuality run rampant in the Morman church. Rampant" -- born and raised Morman who was in the Navy with me
People don't like the Mormon church because
--it's still secretly polygamous
--Jesus got on a jet and spent a lot of time in the Americas converting the natives?! Whoa! Where's the evidence in the copious lore of native American religions? "None."
--Baptising dead relatives?! Doesn't the Old Testament specifically prohibit conjuring the dead? And shouldn't we remember them as they were with the beliefs they HAD?
--The book of Mormon was on a gold stamped scroll that ascended itself into Heaven once it was translated? Does the word "bunko" mean anything to you?
--The Morman Church absolutely disallowed black membership until 1978 when it nearly lost its tax exemption for that reason. Then a vision to the Mormon leader changed the policy! As a white southerner and Episcopalian, I'm telling you that the Mormon policy and retreat for tax reasons stink like a racist m*th*rf*ck*r.
--You gotta hoard a year's worth of food in your house to be a devout Mormon. What's up with THAT Armeggedon worship?
--Ever heard of the special Mormon "eternelle" marriage? Talk about creepy!
--When the Mormon elders come a calling to talk about religion, they are harder to get rid of than ticks on a cold day. Very arrogant. Very pushy. Dare I say "cultish?"

Well, people who do don't like the Mormon church see it as a ridiculous cult inspired by a goofball who manipulated people that he knew weren't very bright and who lived in fear.
Now, about the grammer in your question...

To the person above me, thank you!
To Princess_Kings_Kid, what do the children of cats (kittens) grow up to be? What about puppies? What about the Children of God? Jesus wants us to be like him, and Jesus is a God, so there you have it.
People hate the Mormon church because the devil is working strong against it.
