You regard the Bible as "myths" correct? I mean besides the countless fullfilled prophecies, Jesus curing the sick, calming the storm, his resurrection from the dead, etc. Obviously these aren't "Godly" enough...so tell me.. how do you want God to prove himself.> (by the way the modern N.T alone is 99.5% like the original)

I am not against God or a higher power I just do not understand why people put so much faith into a really really really old book versus science that has facts to back it up.

Do you picture a building? Do you picture an institution? Do you think of a denomination? Does your mind race with church activities, programs and events? Are you reminded of an organization you joined years ago?

Intolerance and judgment. I have been often told that these are not qualities of a true Christian, but these are the exact qualities that this Christian is exhibiting. As you can see, I pointed out she was going against the teachings of Jesus. However, she glazed over that and justified her position by saying that she's not perfect, and continued her actions.

I point this out, not to bash, but to give a prime example of why I stopped going to church and why I turned away from Christianity. I couldn't believe that "God's children" could act so intolerant of me and other people. I live in a city of 2.7 million people, and I've seen this kind of behavior in every church I've been to. 90% of the congregation acted on impulses of judgment and intolerance.

How can Christianity be the true faith when most Christians I've come into contact with act like this?

Why did Christ sacrifice himself for our sins, when our sins are a direct result of GOD's plan?

The premise of God is:

1.God is omnipotent (all-powerful)
2.God is omnipresent (everywhere)
3.God is omniscient (sees all)

So, based on this premise, "before" GOD created anything, he/she already knew that one of his angels (Lucifer) would turn against him; two of his creations (Adam/Eve) would eat the forbidden fruit, etc, etc.

So perhaps, if God created us, we were CREATED with SIN already in us, and our goal then is to reach that pure state of thought while here on this planet.

Thoughts…?!?

Why is it that you people who seem to hate christians for pushing there views on you constantly feel the need to push christians into not beleiving. So some of us believe that God is there for us. Some of us beleive that God created the World in 6 days. What does it matter to you? Why does that hurt you so much, that you feel the need to pressure and almost from some post attack christians? Don't get me wrong some christians aren't good people, there are people who claim to know christ that don't follow him. I don't understand why you hate us christians who haven't even tried forcing you into anything?

Say a person "prays" the salvation prayer and says that they accept Jesus Christ as savior. If they go and get drunk everyday, beat their spouse, hate their neighbors, and live the exact opposite of how Christ did are they truly saved?

What does the bible say about that?

The church has been wrong before, Galileo and Copernicus denied the churches common belief of the stellar map. Then the church admitted they were wrong. Darwin's belief of evolution is exactly the same. Evolution is a theory, and that's a lot more than anyone is willing to admit, although it is yet to be entirely complete, filling in the holes does not mean turning to a deity.

Like most of my "questions" this isn't a question, I would like to discuss this and see your opinions. However, I find statements a lot better than a sarcastic rhetorical question, so here we go.

Can anyone explain the origins of, or the beginning of blood?

"I Know and Believe that GOD is the only source of life and blood"?

This is a quote that a scientist made when IIn order for a component to evolve from anyting prior, there must be a need for the component.
Would a heart evolve without blood?
Would lungs evolve without blood?
Would blood evolve without lungs or a heart?
You see the point.
How long would a creature survive with blood but no lungs or heart? How would the new design be passed on?
posted a question before hand.

Hello. My pastor has recently said something that I have been pondering for awhile. He said that we should pray to God and not let things bog us down, such as a family member with an illness or something, just give it to God and try to move on. I agree with this, however, people also say "Keep _(Some circumstance) in your prayers" Which I also agree with, but if he are supposed to pray about it and then move on, how are we supposed to KEEP something in our prayers like...pray about it more than once. I don't know. I am sorry for all the confusion!!

Let us imagine a particular person. And just for fun let's call her Mary. Now Mary has never had religion. By this Christian definition Mary is without morals of any kind. Along comes a missionary and tells Mary all about Jesus. He tells bible stories that illustrate what wonderful, upright examples they set for sinful mankind. He tells about the ten commandments and how all morals come from the deity.

Here is the quandary:

How is Mary, whom we agree has no morals, able to judge if this deity is a moral god? We might observe that one should not worship a god unless that god is worthy of worship. Surely, one would not love a god unless that god was worthy of love.

In other words, Mary must first make an independent judgment -- based upon Madalyn's own godless moral values, that God is worthy of love and worship.

If God all ready knows everything that has happened or will happen from the beginning of time to the end of time then "free will" doesn't really exist. If you have six different ways of driving to work and I know which way you will take on any given day, no matter how random you think you are driving, are you still actually making the choice of what route to take?

Would it really hurt if all high school students had a one semester course covering creatiion stories of major American Indian tribes, Europeans, Middle Easterners, South Asians and East Asians?

We could pair it with a one semester course in critical thinking skills.
