Science have been wrong so many times. One minute they says something, the next its something else. This is because as man,s technology grow we realise that what we once thought was true is being proven wrong. Remember when science thought that the atom was the smallest particle? So how do we know that 100 yrs from now what we thought was a scientific fact isnt true? The bible didnt say how God created the world. Christians know that he just did. Most likely he used science 2 do it. Man is now discovering this science. Science vs God. No comparison. We cannot make anything that can duplicate the human eye.God did it thousands of years ago. Your vein system, the movement of your hand without even a thought.Your thumb.Science cannot do these things. The bible isnt a science book. It just tells us 2 love God, love our neighbors & pray thru Jesus.
Also, the problem with our bible is that we have greatly watered down versions out here. If u was 2 really get some of those transcripts that the Church Of England & the Vatican have stashed away lots of things will be understood. But we just have 2 make do with what we have & rely on faith. That is why there are so many atheists out there. They dont understand that we are not getting the full, powerful & true Word of God.So they reject the bible & reject God too. But this is no excuse, for we all have intelligence & as watered down as the Word is, the message is still there.

For one, science doesn't always have fact to back itself up. Actually, in most cases if researchers remove their own personal opinions and agendas from the work they do, many times the evidence they find tends to support the Bible.
Evolution is a perfect example. The whole idea of evolution is in direct oppostition to the laws of science that state that without any outside help all things are in a process of decay and chaos. Evolution directly goes against that. It says from chaos a more ordered thing was created. And if we consider the whole idea of the Big Bang theory as to our existance, there still is one major hole in the theory..where did all the matter and gas come from that exploded and created everything. There has to be a beginning point where all that matter was created before it formed the universe. Science says that matter can't be created. But it had to have been created at some point for there to be matter to condense so tight that it would explode to form planets, etc...
The Bible may be a really old book, but it has stood the test of time. Everyday, there are evidences found in science, archeology, and other other studies that only confirm the Bible and it's content. The problem is, right now Christianity is not a popular topic, nor does Christianity fit into a politically correct world, where there are no absolutes. So when evidence is found that supports the inerrancy of Scripture, it very rarely finds it's way into the public spot light. And when it does, it is quickly shot down as being innapropriate and fanatical, without any serious considerations, becuase it challenges so much that our current culture has been lead to believe and build their lives upon.

The number of people who actually take every single word of Scripture on a solely literal basis is really quite small by comparison with the numbers of those who know better.
In the Bible you may find: history, geography, philisophy, folk tales, mythology, theology, biography, anthropology, and spirituality on many levels. Frequently all of the above in the same book. Makes deciphering it a tad difficult, which is why for centuries the Church wouldn't let just any Joe Schmoe do it. Too easy to get it wrong and make a mess.( See Luther).
But, if you're willing to knuckle down, learn Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Koine, Latin, and throw in some Assyrian and Babylonian cuneiform and Egyptian hieroglyphics, I don't see why you couldn't read the various books in their original tongues. The Vatican Libraries have 'em, ya know. Most of them. Some are still only to found in the Latin as the earliest known version. But, hey, that's WHY we study so long and hard and so much, isn't it? To help us out when the going gets rough?
As for science, well, I think you'll find that science is not this monoblock of something or other. There are many sciences, many disciplines for measuring creation, the universe and everything in it. Science per se is NOT some magic wand that you wave and all is made clear and understandable to the average kindergartner. No, science per se is a way of LOOKING at reality, of measuring it in as many ways as you can, then drawing or trying to draw some conclusions about what you've discovered.
Theology does the same thing about God. It is why for most of the Christian Era, theology was called the Queen of the Sciences.

2Timothy 3:16 says : All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness.
We believe the Bible because of it's Devine inspiration and the fact that it has survived thousands of years with people throughout the centuries trying to destroy it, and yet it is still here, that is an amazing feat in itself.
As far as having to believe science or the Bible, would it surprise you to learn that true science harmonizes with the Bible?
The Bible doesn't teach science, but when it refers to natural phenomena, it is consistently accurate. Ecclesiastes 1:7 and Amos 5:8 both accurately discribe the water cycle using very simple terms.
Job 26:7 speaks of God "hanging the earth upon nothing" in view of the knowledge available in 1600 B.C. E. that is really remarkable, considering most people of that day had the belief that the earth was resting on the back of an elephant that was standing on the back of a turtle. How could Job have known that? Isaiah 40:22 talks about the shape of the Earth.
Jobe 38:33 talks about how God asked Job if he had come to know the laws of the heavens. Those "laws" are the physical laws that govern our universe.

It is a matter of faith. It is not because everything makes sense or seems so reasonable. It is because we choose to believe that God has spoken to us through this form. There are some things that are indeed hard to believe or understand, but our faith comes first.
Science is always changing its mind. Are eggs good or bad for you? Is coffee good or bad for you? The latest on coffee can be found in the Yahoo news stories. Science is an exploration and it cannot speak to us of the meaning of life. It can only theorize how life came to be. Faith and religion talk about the meaning of life. This is outside the limits of Science, which focuses on why things happen at a physical and not spiritual level.

Science and the Bible are not always in conflict with each other. In fact, they rarely (if ever) are.
The Christian faith has nothing to fear from science, just as science has nothing to fear from religion.
Most Christians -- at least those of us of the Catholic variety -- would probably tell you that when the Bible says "the sun rose," it doesn't mean that the sun literally and physically moved while the earth stood still.
Rather, the book is simply using a metaphor -- one that's often used in secular works and in vernacular speech, by the way -- to describe how night turns into day.
The Bible is not a scientific book and no one has ever claimed that it is -- at least no one who knows that the Bible is first and foremost a religious book, anyway.

Hmm? That's a hard question but these are people that have actually seen and herd the word of God. The only way that they were able to remember all that is written in the Bible was by passing it on to each other Thu generation to generation. We don't see miracles like they did back when Jesus was around and there has never been another person like Jesus ever since then. Remember faith is what gave people the miracles that they were seeking. God Bless:)

Maybe because every day more and more discoveries are made to prove what the bible says. For example, people used to say that circumsion on the eighth day was dumb, but then scientists discovered that the blood doesn't clot until the eighth day, any sooner and the baby will die from blood loss.
Your assuming that science has proven that the bible is wrong, when actually evolution has been proven wrong time and time again. Evolution is pure fantasy, called by its OWN supporters "the biggest fairytale of the 20th century."!

The Book is old but it will remain until Jesus comes, its prophecies goes right up to that time - Revelation. It will be used to judge us whether we followed it or not, science help us to live in this present earth but the Bible prepares us for the new one without sin. The devil uses this deception to try and put the Bible asside because he knows that it will be used to judge him. God does not leave us in the dark to try and find our way out because we are sinful and our natural behaviour is to sin. The Bible is God's word and he is a God that never changes - the Bible suits all eras of time because it deals with the inner man, the soul that is the same from day one to now. Science is good but the Bible guides us to the truth that will purify the soul and prepare us to accept the gift of Jesus Christ - eternal life.
