It is your choice to leave or stay.
Consider
(1) what is the value of staying vs. leaving?
(2) if changing churches (religion is the same), then perhaps you need to ask yourself what you are looking for?
(3) if changing religions - some religions do not allow you to change e.g. If you are a Muslim, you are not allowed to change your religion. You could be jailed for life or executed. So if you are planning to be a Muslim, you will be a prisoner of the Iman or Ayatollah for life!
(4) if you are changing because you are upset about someone, something that was done, something that was said at the place, or find that the place of worship is no longer relevant to your life, then
take some time to walk alone and think about what is the matter with you attending the place
take someone you know who does not attend the place to talk about it objectively
find alternatives - such as reading philosophy, great adventures, famous people, etc and use their inspiration to set your new directions - both mentally and spiritually.
When you find your path, make new friends, and move onwards to a fun and rewarding future.

I left my place of worship but not God. I believe that religion shouldn't exist, but I know that God exists because i've personally experienced the devine presence (whether it's a he or a she). I left because I have read the bible all the way through and I believe that I understand it and I don't like how the different churches interpret it for their own benefit. I don't need someone to tell me what it should mean to me. I think my comprehension of the English language is adequated enough for me to interpret it on my own.
Also, I've studied several different religions and have not found anything extraordinary that really sets them apart from any other religion. Also, more wars in the world have been fought over religion than anything else. All these reasons to not be part of a religion, yet they're still the most successful institutions in the world.

I left once, and I thought I was leaving my beliefs behind, as well. When I came back into the fold, I evaluated a few churches before I found the one I belong to. I wouldn't leave unless it stopped being a place of worship that was in alignment with my beliefs. If it did, I'd evaluate new ones until I found another I was happy with.
Before I left, though, I'd make sure I'd done everything I could to improve the issue.

Well, I believe that the God I worship cannot be contained within four walls, so really wherever I choose to worship Him is my place of worship. Especially considering my body is actually a temple of the Holy Ghost (I Cor. 6:19). However, there are definite benefits to gathering together in a building. Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20) Also, going to church allows friendships to be built, you can encourage other believers, and be encouraged yourself, and even give you more of a sense of belonging.
So, I'm open to worship in other places of worship, but I love the Apostolic faith too much to leave it altogether, and worship other gods.

Leaving to go where? There is no place else that I would rather go than to the church I go to. It teaches the bible and the bible only. The way Jesus taught. Why want to go anywhere else that wants to tell you the wrong day to worship, the other lies that they tell you, explaining away the truth? I will stay right where I am, thank you.

I left my place of worship over 8 years ago because of the spiritual leader was preaching what is right and wrong, but was not leading by example.
Other wise known as hypocrisy.

I left a Baptist church in my town because the pastor, who I though was excellent, left. I don't know the details, but shortly after he left, the "secondary" pastor left as well. So the church split somewhat; I found a new church.
I don't attend the church that I did when I was a child because I think that it is too big; I prefer churches that have smaller congregations (no more than 500 total people).

I go to a different place of worship every week. That's REAL freedom of religion.

I did because of the hypocrisy of the Pastor and his staff. I felt that they were not living up to what they were preaching. In fact I was involed in a situation where they mocked me and ultimately showed anger towards me because they knew I knew they had backstabb me without apology. All I wanted was to forgive and forget; but they couldn't get over their own guilt. Therefore I left.
