Their actions cannot be called a sin as they dont have the higher intelligence humans have.
This is what distinguishes us from them.
They have souls as we do, so you never know who that cockroach you just stomped on used to be in a previous life and what they did to deserve being reborn in that form.
Something to ponder on.

I really don't think they do... or do they? it's confusing... Because for one you think that animals only act by instinct therefor it wouldn't be a sin, because all them do the same/ act the same, it's just the way they were meant to be...
On the other hand I would tend to believe that they do!
When my dog does something (( like steal a sock for example) stupid example)) well right away, without us saying anything, she goes and hides under the table because she doesn't want us to see her and get mad!!!! Sometimes she does things that make me wonder, she really does understand more than we are led to believe.
Basically, in my opinion, animals in the wild act only by instinct so they don't sin... House animals ( I'm not talking about a fish here) can sin, because they live with us and get a better understanding of how we live, it's like they get a bit of our intelligence through seeing our actions and us talking to them! This is debatable and I find that it is an interesting question! I think that some have the capacities to sin, others simply can't.

Well,
This is just my opinion, but I don't necessarily think animals sin. Animals act on the instincts that they were born with. The difference between animals and people, is that people have the power to reason, and can choose actions that go against their instincts.
That ability to go against instinct is much stronger within people than it is with animals. Animals don't know any better, of course they can be taught, but I think only by people.
When was the last time you saw a dog telling his pup not to chase a cat because they were scaring the cat?

Good question. The Bible says that sin has corrupted everything and that would include the animals. The natural way of animals that God first created wasn't to kill and eat each other but because of sin they began to do that. They do not sin because they do not have a conscious and the Holy Spirit isn't promise to them it was promised to humans when Jesus went back to heaven after his resurrection - I will send another comforter... The Holy Spirit is the one that works on our conscience to follow God. Animals follow nature and because nature is corrupted they are corrupted but they do not have a choice because they are not intelligent. Jesus died for man, and thus that is the only way we can get forgiveness - animals can't pray to Jesus for forgiveness.

Nope, cause they're innocent. Yes, some are gay, but they don't know that's wrong, so it can't be a sin. Now, our Rotten Horrible has eaten the remote control, various pieces of furniture, my dark chocolate (she has good taste), shoes, books, toys, etc., and sure, she knows its bad because she tries to hide her giant, rotten self after having devoured something she's not suppose to devour, but that's still not a sin, because she'd doesn't know about God. She's knows she's in trouble, but that's different than knowing about sin. And yes, they do go to heaven, there's horses there, so I'm guessing other creatures will be there too. It would be awfully boring there without them, since humans can be such idiots. Would not want to have to spend all of eternity with stupid humans and no lovely creatures, even rotten horrible ones.

Yes they do. Remeber during the great flood all those animals were on the same boat and had to eat each other. Hunger is a sin.
Therefore ANimals do sin.

Mankind has free will to make his owns decisions. If he makes constructive decisions, nature, in its due course, will reward him accordingly. When man makes destructive decisions, nature punishes him accordingly, when the time is right. We all know this from personal experience. Put your hand in fire and you feel pain and get burnt. Use fire to roast marshmellows and you have a nice treat. A little peanut butter and chocolate wouldn't hurt either. Anyway, sin is nothing more than destructive decision making. Animals have the impulse to follow their instinct. They have a very small degree of intelligence. Smart enought not to get burnt, but not smart enough to roast marshmellows. Besides, they probably prefer Beggin' Strips (TM) - Dogs don't know it's not bacon.

In order to sin, that would assume there is a deity to sin against. Since there is no god, neither animals nor man is capable of sin.

They would have to know right from wrong to sin and have the ability to choose which they do not, so no, they do not sin. They only do what comes natural to them and as some have posted, they do not indulge in homosexuality. That is just plain ignorance.

No because sin is breaking Gods law and animals don't need salvation. They don't have man's ability of reasoning.
