You regard the Bible as "myths" correct? I mean besides the countless fullfilled prophecies, Jesus curing the sick, calming the storm, his resurrection from the dead, etc. Obviously these aren't "Godly" enough...so tell me.. how do you want God to prove himself.> (by the way the modern N.T alone is 99.5% like the original)

You ask this as though I WANT god to prove "himself". As though I have sat down and laid out a plan for "him" and only by fulfilling this plan will I believe.
That isn't how it works kind sir. I am not interested in proof. I am not interested in a laundry list of "facts" to debate either. I am simply interested in getting along with the people I share this Earth with. I'm not concerned about the before and after. I'm interested in the here and now. I want to live my life in a manner in which others can live theirs happily. I do not need a book filled with "countless fullfilled prophecies" to tell me that I need to help my neighbors when they are in need.
Thank you for understanding my views as I strive to understand yours.

I want God to come out of the sky and say that he is God. Create some miracles, while the world video tapes and scientists around the world attest to them being miracles. Fulfilled prophecies are not evidence at all. I am going to give you a prophesy, "The price of the stamp will go up, you will die some day, the world will end, a person named Jesus will be born(oh wait they are born everyday)." Also curing the sick is not proof either. Doctors cure illnesses all the time, but they have no powers and are not gods. And the other "evidence" you list is not evidence. Going with what you said Hercules existed and held up the world when Atlas went to get Hera's apples, just because a book says he did it. You cannot use the bible to prove events that happened in the bible.

Let's forget about the old testament and the strict rules about men not having long hair like Jesus was reported to or how it was okay to stone your neighbor for working on the Sabbath. The new testament expects it's readers to believe that Noah could fit 2 of every creature on his boat. Jesus was not considered literate or capable enough to write his own book of the bible, although he was capable of performing miracles. The only evidence of his resurrection was an empty tomb that anyone could've emptied. Jesus was not the only person of his time to state a claim of being a higher power and not the only profit who was documented to have resurrected from the dead either. So that story isn't as original as you think. If God proved himself by parting the red sea and helping Jesus walk on water back when the world had no video cameras to document it, then why not do it now so the whole world can believe? God has nothing to prove because God is in everyone of us and to deny our own existance is to deny God. The bible says that we are all created in HIS likeness. What about those who don't have a penis? Are they in HIS likeness as well? Why is it that the books were all written by men and educating women was frowned upon? Many say the bible is metaphoric and not to be taken literally. So is Harry Potter, but only right wing nuts are burning those books because they clearly live in fear of more than just God. They fear the truth and they fear any fiction that distracts from the brain programming that has kept preachers driving new cars for many decades. There is a thin line between metaphor and myth.

The Bible isn't "myth." It is, actually, an accurate source of historical record on some accounts.

However, those things in the bible deemed as "miracles" are a bit hard to swallow. Virgin conception? Puh-leez.

So the New Testament is 99.5% like the original? The original what? How far back are we going? Do you read Hebrew (or Greek, as some will claim)? If you've actually read the scripture in the original Hebrew, and can accurately make that assessment, then, frankly, you're a guy I'd like to have a long conversation with. I'm sure the comparisons are fascinating. However, if you're just going by what you've read on the Internet, or on the publication data of that special little book of your's, then I don't buy it. Show me comparisons in the original language of the bible to today's version. I bet you'll find remarkable differences.

I don't want God to prove himself, nor do I believe the Bible is myth.
No I'm not a Christian. I see the Bible as an ancient text with valuable historic fact and a fascinating perspective of the most known Prophet of it's time. Greek and Roman Myths have a Resurrection theme, so that's nothing new. As far as God proving himself, science has done that for me. I haven't looked at your profile but my guess is you are some kid with limited educational knowledge., and even less Bible knowledge. Just curious what are these countless fulfilled prophecy your speaking of. Or have you confused Nostradamus with Christ?

Your question is completely and utterly flawed. First, the bible is regarded as any other book is regarded, not myth as your question assumes. Your "question" also presupposes the existence of a god, based upon a book -a work of fiction. Does that mean I must prove the existence of Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? No. There is no question that Charlie, like your god, does not exist beyond the context of their respective books. I mean, do you believe everything you read? Perhaps we should put Hitler on a pedestal because of "Mein Kampf"?

Lastly, I'd like to know where you get your "statistics" for the 'new testament' being 99.5% accurate to the original. Seems a bit far-fetched to me... Oh, and what about the accuracy of the 'old testament' - how accurate is that? Do you also have an accuracy for "revelations"? I'm interested in your 'facts'. Really. I am.

What you consider fulfilled prophecies, Jesus curing the sick etc all come from a book written by dozens of people, years after the event, for various different political goals. The contents and the wording of the bible have been changed to fit various political and religious whims.
It's not a matter of wanting a god to prove himself. If you don't believe in a god, you exist outside religion. We're not waiting to be proven wrong.

I put a way religion and that silly bible book long ago! The real truth is that god is a Goddess! A Woman! She is the Great Mother Creatrix! And we need to respect all Females because they are part of Her and Her image! All the Females on Earth will combine in the end and form the image of the Great Mother! We will all then be able to see what She looks like at Her one true identity! Want to test this out for yourself? Just simply ask her to talk to you! and you will see something very noticeable within a day or so that will assure you that She has heard you! JoeyMars..

The Bible was written by man. Written by men who saw the world through their eyes. How do you know for sure that Jesus performed these miracles? Where you there when it happened? Take turning water into wine for example: Jesus was an incredibly smart man for his time, and that was a simple parlor trick. This theory goes for the other miracles he performed.

The prophecies are so general, though. Living everyday life could fulfill a biblical prophecy.

Healing, I believe, is possible because I've had it done on me and I've performed it on other people. Though, healing, in itself, can be logically explained: it's a clinical fact that the touch of a another human is healing. When we're in pain and someone lays their hand on us, it's comforting. Comfort leads to lower blood-pressure and lower stress levels, and that helps the body to heal in a more timely manor.

However, that is my logical side of my brain, I'm also a spiritual person, as well. My Deities show me they exist through the Earth and the cosmos. Learning about space and the endless oddities it contains just makes me believe in them more and more. It's a sense of completeness that can't easily be explained.

You don't even see the circular logic in your question do you?

The book you are using to "prove" your prophecies at the same time states what the prophecies are, and then claims they occured.

How is that proof? Ohh wait, the bible is the infallible word of god because it says so right?

Pathetic.

And the modern bible is 99.5% accurate to the original aremehic written 1800 years ago? Are you fu*king retarded?
