Lev 25:44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, [shall be] of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

Whats up with that ?

Can anyone give us a coherent definition of a "God".

Not 'God is love' or 'God is the father' or any of the esoteric nonsense.

Can you define "God"?

Mine is Jesus! All this talk about religion, Big Bang theory, evolution, creation, God this & God that, putting Him down, not giving Him credit for creating something worthy, saying He lets the good and the young die, putting down the Bible and all that it stands for, and...the list goes on and on. This all happens when a question involving God or creation pops up on Yahoo! Answers, in one way or another. You're entitled to your belief. The satanist, once he or she gets to Hell, will send a question to Yahoo! Answers such as, "Can anyone help me get out of here, its hot here!" Remember, God will have the last and final word.

It has been said that religions cater to peoples' fear of dying by fabricating explanations of the afterlife, the universe, and other unanswerable questions. Are religious people superstitious? And would they admit it if they were?

My proof: Shines on both good and evil; one of the oldest objects in the universe; "God" said "Let there be light"--and the sun is what?;What would happen to life on earth if the sun no longer shone its light?; the sun is in the heavens; Einstein's relativity theory (and his idea that time slows down when you move at the speed of light), suggest that if God's eyes were the sunlight, things would seem to move slowly for God--which might explain the old debate about the age of the earth in the Bible being described as much shorter (4-5000 years) than fossil records (billions of years); Where is God during troubled times? Up in the sky, shining the light on everyone soe we can live another day to make choices; the bible states that people may be blinded if they try to look on the face of God (try looking at the sun); it is said that God can be in many places at once--so can sunlight...

Are there any other Christians on here that feel it is wrong to watch a movie with suggestive content, innuendo and filthy language? Even if the movie is rated PG13?

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank's for giving me every lasting life, for being there whenever I have a question, for being the all knowing, for loving me when I was or am so messed up & getting me out of the mess. You're the best.

many claim God turned his back on us, I think we turned our backs on God by sinning. Yet, I think that suffering on earth has a good purpose, because when we suffer it makes many reach out to God by praying. I think that if we didn't suffer in this world, all of us would forget about God since we wouldn't need him. I think we would become self-centered, Prideful, etc. So I think that everything has purpose in God's Plan!!!

If man is made in God's image, and that man is gay. How does he burn in hell for his sins if he was made in God's image?

Side notes:

Remember, for someone to be gay, it isn't any more of a choice than YOU chose to be heterosexual or what color your eyes are. You are born one way or another, or in some cases both.

If you think it IS a choice, then that means YOU could choose to be gay, right?

Think of how hard it is for someone to "come out" and all that it entails. It is NOT a choice. If you think so, then you're stupid!!!

FYI, I am straight and married.

consider this...the bible is about 1/3 prophecy. can people prophecize?? It has 200 fullfilled prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament to name some. No other book has fullfilled prophecies. Also the Bible writers knew the earth was round almost 3000 years before science! "There is one who is dwelling above the sphere of the earth." Isaiah 40:22, How amazing! Archaelogists have found countless names, cities in the Bible thought to be myths. Im just saying to be more open minded about the Bible. What more proof do you need? My conclusion is God inspired the Bible!!!

dont believe in past lives, but sometimes i meditate when im stressed and i got almost like a vision type thing and i was looking out over rolling hills and tons of gorgeous land and i sensed that i was wearing fine clothes and jewels and somehow i knew i was on a palace wall.and then a man who i sensed was both my father and a king said "someday all of this will be yours" as he waved his hand out toward the land. and then suddenly in it i was in a room looking at my reflection in a mirror and i was fairly thin, had red hair, was wearing very fine old-fashioned royal clothing and had a ruby necklace on. and i heard a woman behind me say "someday you will make a beautiful queen" and when ive taken quizzes before they have ALWAYS said that i was a queen in a past life. what does all of this mean? do u think its a vision of a past life? ive heard that meditation helps you remember your past lives...but ive never believed in any of that...but im not so sure anymore...HELP!

what does the Quran or other eastern religions teach in how you can go to heaven? Is it by good actions and a peaceful life? If so, then do you think that mere human achievement isn't good enough to reconcile our fallen state? Don't you think that it requires an act of God to save humanity such as by sending his son to die for our sins In order for the savior to be infinitely greater than the sinner? Just my thought.

those EXACT words, but close enough for rock-n-roll. The point is, these and other love-everyone and peace on earth stuff is what organized religion supposedly thrives on... (or was that the hippie movement?) anyway, why do those sentiments not apply to your additudes towards gays? I would think that "Love thy fellow MAN" pretty well takes the guesswork outta that one...

I asked a couple questions about the Christian teaching that animals were made to serve human purposes. But it seems like most people just jumped all over me. Some thought that I was saying that I believed that they were made for human purposes (I don't believe that). Others took the opposite approach and acted like I was trying to make a lousy argument for vegetarianism.

Why can't people just answer a question without making all these assumptions and judgments?
