what kind of answers i am reading above.
i am seeing double standards from Christians here.
Jesus was a male. and Christianity believes that God is the father (NOT MOTHER) , and holy spirit is neutral gender.
so 2 persons of trinity are( or rather is) male, and one is neutral.. this makes God, male.
now how come some people are saying that God of christianity has no gender. ?????
i am surprise to hear from some christians above.

I am a Christian and I don't see God as being male. God to me is both male and female. God is more than what we limit God's self to be. Father in the bible doesn't actually mean he. But beloved one, I think.

No...God doesnt have a gender but is referenced to as a male because man was created first. Thats why male is always put in the bible, but it really means humankind.

I'm Christian, but I refer to God as "she" as much as possible just to balance things out, because male religious leaders and male holy book writers have been skewing things their way for way too long.
As for Jesus being male, it was probably just more practical. There's no way anyone back them would have listened if god-incarnate had been female.
So... I think some Christians are chauvanistic for thinking that way, but the faith itself doesn't have to be that way.
And "ernest", you didn't answer her question.

Why dont you try learning about God instead of trying to turn him into you....If you call Jesus female does it help you to understand salvation? its only an issue wiht you there are spiritual reasons why God is refered to as male and if you study you will find this out. We dont create god he is what he is.

god is neither man or female god is spirit. jesus was spirit too he became flesh after he created all things john1:1,3 took on human form as a man because through one man sin enter the word and death enter through sin so by one man jesus paradise shall be restore. let me put it this way
When the Bible Puts the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit on the Same Level in the Same Scripture, It Shows Us the Trinity
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all" (2 Cor. 13:14).
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…" (Matt. 28:19). See also John 14:26, Luke 3:21-22. Since the Bible says there is only one God, we know we are not to baptize in the name of three gods, but the passage clearly speaks of three persons. "Name" in Hebrew speaks as much of the nature of the person as of what he is called. We are to baptize in the name (singular) of all three of the persons of God.
"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father" (Gal. 4:6).
Christ and the Father Are Not Separate Gods, They Have the Same Spirit
"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his… But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you" (Rom. 8:9-11).
Here we find the same Spirit called both the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. The one Spirit is the Spirit of both the Father and the Son. This shows us that they are not separate Gods. If they were, they would not have the same Spirit. In this passage we see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three persons of the one God, working together to raise the mortal bodies of the dead.
The Attributes (or Characteristics) of God Belong to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit:
Eternity (Psalm 90:2 AV, Mic. 5:2, Heb. 9:14)
Omniscience (Jer. 17:10, Rev. 2:23, 1 Cor. 2:11)
Omnipresence (Jer. 23:24, Matt. 18:20, Psalm 139:7)
Holiness (Rev. 15:4, Acts 3;14, 1 Thess. 4:8)
The Works of God Are Likewise Attributed to All Three Persons
The creation is but one example (Psalm 102:25, Col. 1:16 AV, Job 33:4).
God Speaks in the Plural
In the Old Testament God sometimes speaks in the plural, probably indicating the Trinity:
"And God (Elohim, a plural word) said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" (Gen. 1:26). See also Gen. 3:22.
"Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language…" The New World Translation specifies who said this: "After that, Jehovah said… Let us go down and there confuse their language …" (Gen. 11:7).
"Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory" (Isa. 6:3). "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us" (Isa. 6:8)?
Each of the Three Persons Is God
In the chapters on Christ and the Holy Spirit, we have already shown many passages which present Jesus Christ as God and the Holy Spirit as God. Read these verses again, putting them together with the Scriptures that show the Father as God and you will see the Trinity

No,
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Continuing in same chapter:
22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
