Philosophers often define God as the highest form of being, either highest in love or intelligence or power or all of the above.
If you are looking for a religious definition, then you will have to pick a religion. Most of them consider God to be the all powerful creator of the universe.

*He's also like the best artist going, because he made so many amazing things...
*I think He's bit of a comedian too...considering some of his creations --- seriously, I don't know, but I suspect he might be.
*He's the Head of everything. What he says go...If there is any such thing as true "top management"...He's it.
*He's THE great healer.
* He's the best shrink going...
* He's the most patient & loving parent anyone could ask for...
* He's jealous.
He's "THE BOSS!"
I'm leaving scripture out of this answer...and instead using my own words.

God is the Supreme Deity. He is Omnipotent and Omnipresent. His Love, Mercy, Grace, Knowledge surpass anything that we mere mortals can imagine which is why it is so difficult for many to believe in such a being. In reality, God can not be defined in Human terms.

God denotes the deity believed by monotheists to be the sole creator and ruler of the universe. Conceptions of God can vary widely, despite the use of the same term for them all.

I can give you my definition.
I think that you can look around and see that there is some sort of energy that animates this world. I think that is god. Each of us has a divine spark in us that animates us - it's our higher self, our soul, our essence - and it is the same material that god is made of. God is the energy itself.
I think that we are here to learn a lesson - something that can only be learned on Earth. I think that when that lesson is learned the game ends and we go "home" to our energy existence (in effect going to heaven to rejoin god).
I think we can direct our experience through prayer and meditation - god answers our prayers by providing to us the things we repeatedly request, meditate upon to dream about (like a parent who sends money when we are travelling - making us children of god).
