many claim God turned his back on us, I think we turned our backs on God by sinning. Yet, I think that suffering on earth has a good purpose, because when we suffer it makes many reach out to God by praying. I think that if we didn't suffer in this world, all of us would forget about God since we wouldn't need him. I think we would become self-centered, Prideful, etc. So I think that everything has purpose in God's Plan!!!

Persecution is a promise in the bible. But God is directing us on how to respond when it comes our way. Submit unto God, resist Satan & Satan flees. If I wasn't obedient in some area and Satan gives me a bad time, it takes longer to get rid of Him. If I am obedient and Satan attacks I just look to God and submit to Him & His Word and Satan runs.

If I just trust & obey God in everthing and a curse comes I just return it dipped in God's love. If I get sick I thank God for the healing & that by his stripes I was healed. If someone I love dies, I just praise God in the Spirit that person is with the Lord in Heaven. If I have loved ones who won't believe in Jesus, I just praise God for their salvation, hopefully sooner than later, and yes before they die.

When a disaster happens and your house falls down, just look up and ask, "Where does my help come from? It comes from You, Lord of Heaven, maker of the earth.". God is Good. He sent His word and healed us from all our diseases. All things work for the good for those who trust in the Lord.

Jesus said, "I am the way, truth and life...". This is God's plan.

*laughs* Suffering is the only way to know what is real. If the world was all safe then we would all be terribly evil and have no compassion at all.

God never promised a world without suffering to us. Even in Eden, there was temptation and the original sin. It was then that we showed God we had much to learn. He is truely loving to allow us to find the truth, I could think of no more terrible a parent then the one that smothers thier child and over protects them forever. A parent must let thier son or daughter grow eventually... and yes there are great risks including the possibility of death.

However Death is not an end, but a beginning. Those who have faith do not fear it... or hate it. Faith is not a simple or stupid thing, you see?

Without fire, how could ore ever become iron?

What terrible children! Me Me Me! What have you done to ease the suffering of others? Don't be blind, go and do something for God. Are you really so foolish that you can not see the miracles he has already worked for you?

But is it really good that God would allow suffering just so we would reach out to him? Wouldn't be better if we reached out to him because we wanted to find God and believed in him? Sounds like a sort of blackmail reach out to God or u will continue to suffer. I think if everything was good we probably would be self centered and prideful. What about the people that suffer and die?

God doesn't want His people to suffer. Suffering is in this world because those who don't know God, or don't know His true nature allow the devil to attack them. The Bible does say "all things work for good to them that love the Lord." It does not say "we are made to suffer until we enter Heaven". God can take a bad situation and turn it into a testimony, but I find it better to allow God to lead me away from bad situations.

If that helps you feel better then good for you. I can't believe in or follow a God who is like some psycho parent who dishes out pain and trouble on their child just so the child will continue to need them....
There is suffering in this world because we are humans, living in a natural world, run by a natural order.

Suffering does not come from the Lord, but since He gave us a will to choose whom we serve, we usually are fooled by what looks like the "best choice" which is Satan. God is not the one that causes suffering but we cause our own pain by stepping out of His protection and then we are "lunch to the enemy". God is not GLORIFIED by our suffering but by our TRUST in Him that He will provide a way out of it all....
People say why does God allow so much injustice in the world? He gave us the Keys to the Kingdom and if we believed Him we would us the tools He gave us....
You are right He has a purpose in everything and a good plan for our life...HE IS A GOOD FATHER AND TRUSTWORTHY!

Why do we suffer?

Good people how on Earth would we go to God for healing unless we had some injuries?

It is all part of God's great plan for us.

God does not allow suffering. Man creates it through its free will, which "God" did create. I know that is a fairly simple answer, but it happens to be the only remotely accurate one.

Many turn to Jesus because of adversity. If a person does drugs he can't blame God when his life becomes tumultuous. If someone goes to prison for robbery he can't say why God?(some people do).People choose to do evil to others and The evil doer will be accountable.Bad things can happen to good people.
Only God can help.He gives us free choice to ask him for salvation and help.

2. If there is a Supreme Being, then that being appears to act as if apathetic to events in our universe.

All events in our Universe, including its creation, can be explained with or without the existence of a Supreme Being. Thus, if there is indeed a God, then that god has had no more impact than no god at all. To all appearances, any purported Supreme Being is indifferent to our Universe and to its inhabitants.
