darth dammit! what question is this?

According to the bible and torah Josua who took over for the israelites after moses died led a conquest of the land of canaan in the name of god where he commited genocide against these innocent people killing man, women,and child with no mercy. Also god allowed the soldiers to rape the women they choose. By todays standards most would agree this was an evil act...these were not people like the egyptians who may have warranted punishment....God also permits slavery in the bible...how is this a god that is always good and fair?

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. i do. dont get me wrong im a happy person and all. sometimes i just wish the Lord would come so we can hurry up and get to heaven. i think about getting to heaven and meeting Jesus and being able to see my family that has gone before me. that day cant come soon enough for me. i just think being in heaven would be so awesome!

Religion claims to benefit society but is this true?... shouldn't we do some large scale and detailed unbiassed scientific studies to see if religion really does benefit society or not?

We're moving this week, everything is packed up, Bible included. I know there is a passage in the Bible that talks about how you should handle a situation where someone has offended you. Where you should bring them in front of one or two witnesses and if that doesn't solve the situation, bring them to the church. Could someone please tell me where that is located? Thanks in advance.

On the board, posters sometimes criticise Muslmis/Christians/etc.
for teaching their faith to their children. With the faith comes a strong MORAL code.

I am asking because i think if more people asked about other religions instead of making assumptions wouldnt we realise how much were alike?and should we realy hate each other based on what religion they are?And why not explain your religion instead of assuming that people hate you for it.
