No war is not a good thing, and anyone who thinks so should enlist instead of watching for updates on 'their side' on CNN.
There is never a good enough reason to kill innocents and you can't avoid killing innocent people in a war, no matter how hard you try.
I truly hope, and my hope may be foolish that we'll one day see a time without war, without the world having to come to an end.

ok War is bad obviously BUT millions dying every day is ironically good....
world population currently sits at OVER 6.5 BILLION people.. this far exceeds the ideal balance as determined by the United Nations of 5 Billion, and many scientists actually place the figure lower.. 500 Million...
much of the problem is people are living longer than we used to, so kids are not necessarily replacing dying grandparents meaning that the population is growing at an alarming rate..
look at your own city - is it growing?? is it consuming farm land? are houses being built? where is the material to build the houses coming from? where is the food for all those additional people coming from? where are we going to house the upcoming generations? what will happen to all the pollution generated by the extra people?
the land is being destroyed slowly over time it will become unproductive to crop growth because it has been so overworked... we are heading for a world wide disaster if we dont get population growth under control
perhaps war is one way.. although its not killing fast enough.. I wonder when there will be automatic death sentenses for people who reach the age of forty as a form of population control? - my guess is within 50 years

War, by any term is still an excuse for one country or nation to commit murder and other crimes without thought or compassion. God grant that somewhere, some how they will out-law war tomorrow, but to many people look for any reason to do harm to others. Just look at Iraq or Afganistan. Think of Ireland, Boznia even think on the Great Wars, One & Two...where millions lost thier lives in the fight for freedom.
You don't even have to go and ponder on the War's of history. Most downtown cores in major cities around the world have wars on crime and against drugs...so many injured, even killed and for what reason...a quick fix, a few dollars.
As I have said already, May God put into our hearts to make world wars and all conflicts of violence a crime.

well now,to this question. Any one person that actually likes the thought of having a war has really got to have something wrong with them upstairs, and should really consider getting some medical advise. The only time that this should even be thought of is when the stupid *** people that we call government decides that there should be or will be a war.

IN WAR THERE ARE NO WINNERS!!
Every side loses in war because they lose their loved ones.
I hate war and I hate religion because it is what causes war.
As for the religious brainwashed pieces of cr*p strapping bombs to their chest killing innocent people in the name of religion and believing they will be saved, those are the only type of people I would take great pleasure in watching a bomb dropped on them and watch their body parts splatter. I know they are going straight to hell and do not pass go or collect $200.
I am personally ashamed of the human race when you watch the endless fighting and killing on TV.
What makes it even worse is the Palastine/Arab Country are supposed to be the holy land, the places where Jesus grew up preaching love and peace. Look at the way they are all acting? They are like nothing but animals! SHAME ON THEM ALL!

I have met people who liked war. Very few of them ever participated in one, and even fewer had combat roles. (In 1969 supply sergeants were safer in most Vietnamese base camps then in the NYC subway.) The few who did fight and still liked it were simply certifiable psychos.
In my opinion, while war is always a horrible thing, it is sometimes a necessary thing. I certainly approve of the U.S. action against the WWII Axis powers, and had I been of age then I would have enlisted in the armed forces. This does NOT mean that a particular war is justified just because my government decides to go to war. An individual is entitled to question his government’s actions – and to do it with a view to affect policy.
What I have no use for are individuals who use position and privilege to avoid actual combat while simultaneously pretending to be great warriors. They are a disgrace to the uniform. A pacifist who understands there may be consequences to his/her resistance to fighting, but sticks to principles, is head and shoulders above these fakers.
UPDATE: to CF:
If you could just offer one credible iota of evidence about the "over population" argument I'd love to see it. In my many years of looking into it, it's all myopic nonsense. Malthus himself predicted that London would be buried in horse dung in a short time in the population was allowed to keep growing. It didn't happen. What happened was that as the world population increased, the production of humanity increased ahead of it, way ahead of it.
And by the way, why do you think your prot-fascist proposal would mean the killing of the older folks? Wouldn't it be more "practical" to get rid of young "useless eaters" who are not productive? I mean, who needs rug-rats?

Regardless of the cause of the war. War is bad. War can never be a good thing. Liking war cannot be good either. However, in order to fight against war, it is unfortunately sometimes necessary to fight wars.

of course war is not a good thing...but apparently there are some who don't mind it...when there is a conflict between good and bad...there will be war...so people is going to die. Greed, power, wealth get in the way of sharing, helping, loving, their neighbors, and until that changes there will always be war.

I think they are sick in the head and need help. War is sad, watching family losing their loved ones is not something i like to do. Cause parnets want their children to out live them not the other way around. And right now i totally disagree with the war cause i dont think it was justified, im still asking myself why dont we impeach our president and put someone in charge that knows what the hell they are doing.

It says in the Bible, there will be war and rumors of war. War sometimes...is needed. I think it depends on the reason for war...if its just for the heck of it...its not right. But if you are fighting for something good....
