God expects us to be perfect as he stated but he didn't leave it up to ourselves to be perfect off our own, he promised the Holy Spirit which will be our comforter and guide and if we follow him each and everyday our lives will become more and more perfect in his sight and one day he will say to us what he said about Job in Job 1:1.

Well thats what God had originally intended, but when Adam and Eve took the apple....he had to send his son to die for us, because he saw that ALL of us were going to sin, so thats why he did that! Because Jesus was perfect! So now...we can still get into heaven! Boy! He sure does love us! Isnt that awesome! :D

Through Christ all things are possible...As for perfection, we must strive to be holy(meaning seperated unto Him) and just, for there is a level of perfection in each of us that God sees fit. For only God can judge the level of perfection in us...Let go...and Let God.

God does not intend for us to be perect, he never has. Only Jesus fits that catagory. He does wish for us to try and be like him...doesn't neccessarily mean perfect b/c he knows we never will be..just that we should try. He gave us free-will to choose what we wish to do. For most of us its hard enough to just keep the 10 commandments...lol...I seem to have a problem with the "Thou Shalt Not Covett' one....:-) So no, he never intended for us to be perfect, just to try and be the best we can be.

Perfect? Nothing or no one has ever been perfect! Learn to think on your own.

Because perfection is impossible for humans of their own power, I have always been convinced that this was not a command for US to do something, but something that was being spoken into being... similar to "let there be light," and "Lazarus, come forth." It wasn't something we needed to do it was something Jesus was making happen.

we're supposed to try, but we obviously will never be perfect until we reach heaven.

Of course not. God created us to be free thinkers. Yet have a conscience. Treat others as you wish to be treated. If that means smoke a joint or have a threesome, so be it. Thank God for the freedom to do so.

It's impossible to be perfect - only God is, but he will teach us how to be more like him

We are to try to become perfect.
We can not do it by our selves.
We must ask God to teach us His ways, to strengthen us to do His will and for Him to change us into His image.
