When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

Sure does sound like it.

I just read Randy's response. How can we pick and choose which of God's words are relevent to todays society? That is not our place.

That being said...I am sceptically of everything in the Bible b/c who knows how much Gods intent has been twisted through the ages by men. Just look at all the "preachers/men of God" today. They have made twisting things to suit their own purposes an art form.

Keep reading the Bible. God loves you too. Let me know when you get into the New Testament. You seem to have trouble following the Old Testament. But that's okay, God still loves ya.

Which notes clearly that the bible references things no longer relevant to today's society. Other passages used as biblical weapons against gay marriage could follow a similiar pattern.

That isn't a sex slave. Beyond that, you're studying laws for a culture irrelevant to our own. Think about that for a minute :)

Just because it is in the bible doesn't make it true. The bible is a book written by man as he perceived it. Unless you were there, I wouldn't put a lot of weight in all you read. Good question!!

its got nothing to do with sex...
and your using a mainstream version again. i repeat...KJV or NKJV at least.

i have a question for YOU.... what is your point with all this out of context rubbish? why are you spending all your time on yahoo answers trying to annoy people? are you really that lonely that you have nothing better to do?

you NEED Jesus, please seek God.
