Grace(not law) unto you, and peace(not division),
from God our Fathe and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The law is not of faith: Gal 3:12
Re: children, the exhortation is:
"Forbid(law) them not"
(Mt 19; Mk 10; Lk 18)
For law is spiritual, but it's spiritual abuse.
And the law is good, but it is also evil.
Discern(avoid) both good and evil.
Law worketh wrath: Rom 4:15
We are delivered from the law: Rom 7:6
We are to put away wrath(law): Eph 4:31
God hath not appt'd us unto wrath(law): 1Thes 5:9
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Morals don't have to come from faith in a higher power. There are many people who have faith (or at least claim to) and are morally despicable. Most people have an inherent sense of what is right or wrong without ever being told. For those who don't, there are laws in place.

A moral code based on a subjective value (a certain kind of god, a certain kind of society, or a certain persons whims like a King or queen) is a moral system that can and will sacrifice many human lives to serve that highest value.
Teach your children an objective moral system, and you teach you children a non-contradictory system that they can rely on.
A decent book to read on this topic is "loving life" by Craig Biddle

with there faith comes a strong moral code, but also some incorrect morallity, like homosexuality is wrong, or women should have short hair (1 Corinthians 11), men shouldn't have long hair( 1 corinthians11), and women arent aloud to talk in churches (1 corinthians 14:34)

Yes it is a good thing to teach your children your faith, no matter if it is Christian or Muslims or other. If you don't teach your children your faith then somebody else will teach them what they believe and they may be different from what you believe and lead to the eventual break up of the family.

Except that the "code" is seldom moral. More often it is filled with guilt, hate, intolerance and all the other things that make people kill, capture, suppress, invade, and pillage .. all in the name of one religion or another. Many of us see the effect of religions on the world and our society as profoundly negative in both a historical and modern perspectives.

I believe that religion isn't the only source of morality. And if you look into most religions, blood has been shed in the name of establishing and maintaining each group's sense of 'morality'.
A child would be better instructed on morality by a brick. Then, be allowed to decide for his/herself.

yes, it is. you're absolutely right. some people have nothing to do other then to bash each other over the head for their religions, races, backrounds etc. heck, i even get crap for getting best answers! really, time on this earth is far too short for this stuff. teaching our children what is right and wrong...our relgion...our God...is a good thing. personally, for me, that's christianity.
