I was raised by my mother who is a Christian (baptist), and by my grandmother who was a psychic medium. I was taught about the bible AND taken to psychic fairs as a kid. I'm 33 and still having problems integrating my 2 belief systems. What do you think about this?

Both of you feel strongly about your religion and believe it to be the one and only true religion, one person is for example Catholic and the other person is a Buddist. Would you insist your children choose your religion over your spouses or would you let them choose for themselves?

I'm for it, even though I'm catholic. I hate when people discriminate against homosexuals. And I get so annoyed when people discriminate others with AIDS. A lot of people I know say that you can only get AIDS from gay people. I'm sick of everyone being so judgmental.

I mean if God is supposed to be looking out for us when we pray, and answering every prayer then why are innocent children suffering everyday, and other people as well? I just don't get the fact that a God so caring would let such travesties occur...

I mean, if the world is young as creationists believe, then why are there no historical recordings of dinosaurs? Why no story of Moses battling the giant creatures or Jesus slaying the mighty beasts that walked on all fours and were as big as a house?

Wouldn't there be at least SOME stories of man verusue these mighty beasts that would be detailed in the Bible and other texts and scriptures? We know they existed. We have tons of fossils and bones around the world. So why are they not mentioned? They were certainly big enough to have turned many cheeks and I would think that seeing them walk by or being chased by one would be worthy of a lot of stories that would have been passed on over the generations. Why aren't there any stories of dinosaurs if the world is so young?

Depending on what you believe in that religion, a lot of it seems a bit out of sight. Is there anyone who can tell me more about this belief, good or bad? Thanks

Did you have an experience, was it how your parents brought you up, are you afraid of the risk of not believing, does it just make more sense to you regardless of whether He exists or not, or do you usually follow what the majority does? Seriously, be honest. I don't know you, and if I do, I already know how you feel.

Its my understanding that some churchs are against birth control in all forms other then abstinence. What about married people who don't want more kids then they can care for. I was wondering what's the problem with using birth control.

Predestination is unscriptural and not found in the Bible.

2 Peter 3:9 ..."not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

1 Timothy 2:4 "who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."

Peter and Paul did not teach predestanmation. Predestination is not found anywhere in the Bible. Clearly, John Calvin goes against the Bible and would have been condemened by Peter, Paul, and the Apostles.
