I was told that NO where in the Bible does it say we have to given money to tithe. God says given 10 percent of what you have. If you are homeless without money, how can you tithe? Giving one service can be used as tithing.

My wife and I were married just a month ago. Things are getting off to a rocky start. She is very controlling. She has to know where I am,what I am doing, and who I am with ALL THE TIME! She thinks that I am mad at her all the time and cries all the time. One day she threatened to kill me. (AFter two weeks of marriage!) My sex drive is gone, I don't want to make love to someone who is like this. I love her with all my heart, but think that I made a mistake a month ago. I know divorce is against the Bible, but I don't see a way out. I posted a message a couple days ago also, about this. There is more information in it. It is located under love and romance. Please help me. We need help. I have asked her to go to counseling, but she refuses. Our pre marital counseling was in January and I asked her to go back a month before the wedding and she refused. I need your help PLEASE!

The Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) was made up anonymously & added centuries later

A critical Bible passage is in (1 John)
which explicitly sets out the Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). It is a cornerstone of Christian theology, and this is the only place where it is spelled out in the entire Bible -- but it appears to have been added to the text centuries later, by an unknown scribe.

Cheymain asked this question and I just wanted to repost so that more people would understand it. Christians anyway.

In the Old Testament there was a different animal sacrificed for each sin or each type of sin. And you were only forgiven until you sinned again. Then you had to sacrafice another animal to make an atonement for your sin. But when Christ came and died on the cross for us. He was the ultimate atonement. The "lamb." The reason the animals didn't work is because... an animals life isn't as relevant to another human's life as one human to another. He died on the cross and shed his blood for us. From one human to another. That is something that we can relate to. That is why we are washed by the blood of the lamb. Because he gave the ultimate sacrafice. His life for us. When he was sinless.

I told him that it meant that jesus purpose for being on the earth was fufilled and that 's why he said 'it was finished'. He redeem us from our sin. He said that we no longer have to do any work, for as preaching the word, it was finished we Jesus died for us.

If they are born and raised in Canada then why are they doing this kind of terrorist activity against their own country??? So many say that "Christ died for us...for our sins so that we can get into heaven". "We were washed in the blood of the perfect lamb". "Our only salvation is through Christ".

But what does this actually mean?

Everyone of us sin everyday. Abraham, Noah, etc. had remarkeble faith in God. Nobody died for them so that they can have that faith. Heaven could not have been closed to them coz the Apostles saw Jesus with two figures(Elia & Moses, I think)
on the mountain.

Just bear with me, I can not see the reason for Jesus' death as atonement for our sins. It's completely against the Old Testament.

This 'new covenent' thing doesn't make sense either. I don't see any mention of it prior the crucifiction.

If would really like to get you guys' point of view.

You know what... ? To be honest I have always found that doing the research myself has always proven more useful. I remember what I look and and what I read and I know how in depth I have to go until I am satisfied.

So my question is this. Why do all of these people that have never read the Bible, or have only read bits and pieces have so many questions when it's the Living Word, they could pick it up and read it themselves. Besides. When you give them the answer they just want to argue with you anyway. So why don't they get off their lazy rear and read it themselves??

These are things that have been in the Bible that were laughed about when written and many more years later until proven by science. Accurate or Inaccurate?

I don't understand not allowing the Muslim women into the Mosque. This obviously means their souls are not as important as those of the men. Surely God doesn't discriminate against the women. Was it Muhammad that made the rule against women to stay away from an ability to worship in Mosques?

Whenever you ask about the trinity people try to use water to explain it because water can come in three forms ice, water, and steam.
The problem is that according to the trinity god is all three at the same time so someone would have to have a cup of liquid steaming ice.
A second problem is that the very states of matter beginning referenced are manmade it could easily be expanded to 3 with the introduction of transitory phases, gaseous liquids, liquidous solids and so forth so this example is fails.

Do the historical facts of Jesus's existance and the date of the New Testament stories (perported to be written by Jesus's Disciples) actually occur in the same time frame. i.e. do the dates of each occurence add up?
