Whenever you ask about the trinity people try to use water to explain it because water can come in three forms ice, water, and steam.
The problem is that according to the trinity god is all three at the same time so someone would have to have a cup of liquid steaming ice.
A second problem is that the very states of matter beginning referenced are manmade it could easily be expanded to 3 with the introduction of transitory phases, gaseous liquids, liquidous solids and so forth so this example is fails.

jbw break an egg open and scrap at the inner side of the shell there is a membrane there that would make it four instead of three also in the trinity they are coequal so they would all have to be the same size.

Your reasoning is right on point, neveroutnumbered. In all these illustrations used to explain the trinity - water, an egg, an apple - the definition of the trinity is overlooked. According to the official definition of the trinity, the Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God. They are all co-eternal, co-equal and co-omnipotent. None is afore or after the other. And yet there is only one God. That is not the case with apples, eggs, water or any other apparent three-component entity. Egg: a shell, a yolk and the white and yet one egg - so they say. If I go to the store to purchase a dozen eggs and they hand me a dozen eggshells, shall I have a dozen eggs? An apple: a core, the skin and the meat and yet one apple - so they say. If I want a dozen apples and they hand me a dozen apple cores, shall I have a dozen apples? No.
Egg shells are not eggs and apple cores are not apples. These components do not comprise an egg or an apple - they are merely components. They do not meet the criteria set out in the official definition of the Trinity. These components are not co-equal or co-eternal with the whole.

The Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) was made up anonymously & added centuries later
"A critical Bible passage is in (1 John)
which explicitly sets out the Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). It is a cornerstone of Christian theology, and this is the only place where it is spelled out in the entire Bible -- but it appears to have been added to the text centuries later, by an unknown scribe."

Just old tales from a long time ago. The water nor the egg is a good example if they are analyzed. People just take it as truth when someone they think is in the know tells them so. When people begin to question religion it always ends the same, you just have to have Faith. That is not an answer that is a cop out.
...It is not possible to explain something that does not exist. Only the ignorant will believe.

That's not an example, it's an illustration. Can you put into a few words the full inventory and operations of a Wal-mart warehouse with a completely accurate depiction? How much more challenging to put an explanation of God. Besides, remember the word trinity is only someones illustration of God in the first place. Don't panic over an illustration of an illustration.

This may all be true but I know why ice floats on water... because ice is heavier than air. But if you look at spirit-matter or what is called antimatter it has three states as well. The first state is called compacted. The second state is trapped and the third state of anti-matter is free. So yes antimatter in the free state can return to the source, the black hole. Where is all matter headed... of course to the black hole.

"THE TRINITY IS NOT THE BELIEF THAT GOD IS THREE PERSONS AND ONLY ONE PERSON AT THE SAME TIME AND IN THE SAME SENSE. THAT WOULD BE A CONTRADICTION. RATHER, IT IS THE BELIEF THAT THERE ARE THREE PERSONS IN ONE NATURE. THIS MAY BE A MYSTERY, BUT IT IS NOT A CONTRADICTION. THAT IS, IT MAY GO BEYOND REASON'T ABILITY TO COMPREHEND COMPLETELY, BUT IT DOES NOT GO AGAINST REASON'S ABILITY TO APPREHEND CONSISITENTLY." -Norman Geisler
I wouldn't focus too much of your efforts on trying to understand the trinity. Try reading the entire Bible. Front to back. Believe me, the majority of your questions WILL be answered.

Actually, most analogies fall short in one way or another. However, that does invalidate the doctrine of the Trinity. "It doesn't make sense."? Is it required that God's nature is understandable to your human mind? Is God so small that He must be easily conceived by you? God exists outside of time and space. He is eternal and omniscient. That can be difficult to grasp (logic wise), but that is a depiction of His revealed nature. Likewise, the bible teaches there is one God. Our one God has revealed himself to us in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

the full mystery of trinity can't be explained by anyone... it is a mystery and will remain as it is... believing in it means faith...
however, the trinity are revealed in the scriptures of the catholic church, and i belong to it..
i once asked a priest friend of mine who is also a theologian and he asnwers me about half of the mystery of what he has understood about the trinity. it was good and i am satisfied with it...
and for you who is all knowing, revealing the mystery of the trinity to you is like explaining the theory of relativity to a 1 year old dog.
have a good day!
